Wadcutters
Preacherman, .357 148-grain DE wadcutters indeed have crimping grooves, and it's a nice feature that provides a little more capacity in a .357 Magnum case. I've loaded those bullets with Unique...seated out...that flirted with
1200 fps from a 4-inch barrel and a bit under 1150 from a 3-inch Model 13.
If someone makes a 200-220 grain DE wadcutter in .452 diameter, it would make for a nice 900-950 fps .45 Colt round by soaking up some of the cavernous case capacity. A .45 caliber full wadcutter at 900 fps would be singularly unpleasant at close range on the receiving end, methinks...
