Interesting story this morning in the Idaho Statesman.
No one was hurt early Friday morning when a man in the 7300 block of Northview Street in Boise fired three shots at what he thought was a prowler.
According to Boise Police Lt. Bryan Hagler, the man’s wife crawled out a window and went to a neighbor’s home to call police when the couple thought they heard someone in the home.
Police said when they arrived at the home, they heard three shots.
Hagler said the man fired a 9 mm handgun twice out the bedroom window at what he thought was a prowler coming in. He fired again into a bedroom wall at what he thought was a prowler in the bedroom.
“All the shots were fired after police arrive,” Hagler said. “There were no prowlers.”
Two children also were at home at the time.
Hagler said the shots fired out the window were on an upward trajectory.
“So they’re out there somewhere,” Hagler said. “You can’t shoot at shadows. You have know what you’re shooting at. It could have been one of the kids.”
No charges were filed, but Hagler said the case will be turned over to the prosecutor’s office.
