That is a pretty arrogant attitude. It could be likened to saying, "We are going to break another country's soverign law and if they don't like it, we will come in and shoot them for it. We are the United Freaking States of America and you better fear us."
I'm not very good with quotes, but... Theodore Roosevelt? :rolleyes:

You pays yo' money and you takes yo' chances.

Sounds like the boys were doin' a little bit of private business. Not at all uncommon in these parts. It is not at all rare for Customs Officers or Border Patrol officers to do a little business on the side. Don't expect any tears from me. The curiosity is that the violators are ALMOST always Hispanic/Latino/Mexican-American. Seldom are gueros involved.

Mexico's gun (and ammunition) laws are predicated on the concept of keeping arms and ammunition out of the hands of the unwashed masses. They are not so afraid of invasion from without as rebellion from within.

So if 2 Mexican Federal Police entered into the US with 1200 rounds of ammo, or 1200 pounds of reefer, we should just throw'em back.....

Their country, their rules.

And if you dont think yanquis cross over and commit crimes you sure havent spent ANY time on their side of the line. :rolleyes:
Do y'all have any idea of how many gringo hoods go to Mexico 'cause its, Mexico?

Geez, thanks, Nemesis. I was starting to think we were all going to have to go on pretending to believe that these guys just innocently wandered across the border and forgot they had a couple of cases of .40 ammo in the backseat.

Maybe they did, but it seems to me it's a lot more likely they were heading into a country where that ammunition is banned and therefore can be sold for lots of money because they wanted to make some of that easy money.

Ummm, fewer than the number of illegal aliens that are here from Mexico?

Also fewer than the number of garden-variety criminals that are here from Mexico?

What do I win? :confused:

But Border Patrol agents need to NOT smuggle. It's bad.

<sarcasm on>

What?!? The Mexicans have the audacity to secure their border? How dare they! They are racist! Those bastards have no business enforcing their laws! We should file a complaint with Vincente Fox! File an injunction with the U.N.! After all, we should embrace a policy of willing bullets for willing guns!

<sarcasm off>

:neener:

I go to Ojinaga, across from Presidio, TX, fairly regularly. One thing I do before leaving home is check under the seats, in the console and in the glove box for "stray" stuff. Any cartridge, whatever pistol or knife got left in the truck overnight, and I generally take out anything that might be attractive to a window-breaker.

I've never had the first sign of any problem at the border, going or coming. I've never had the first sign of a hassle in Ojinaga. But there's more to insurance than some piece of paper for which I pay a monthly premium...

The numbers really don't matter. Either it is illegal for illegal aliens to come here and it is illegal for our citizens to try and take ammo into their country, or it isn't. This isn't a relative issue where the person who does it the most is at fault. Either it is wrong or it isn't. Plain and simple. Sorry, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Two weeks ago, another hispanic Border Patrol agent from the same region / office was found Guilty of attempting to smuggle 750-lbs of marijuana into the US, in his Patrol vehicle.

Something is VERY wrong in the Imperial County Border Patrol office.

OMG! Where are THR's Border Guards! Just think if this were reversed!

We have invaded Mexico! War! Cry "havoc" and let slip the tinfoil hats of war!

Are you saying the situations are equivalent somehow?

Are there 15-20 million American illegals currently sucking off the welfare tit in Mexico?

Are 40% of the violent felons in Mexican prisons American illegals?

Any gangs of American illegals hooked up with Al-Queda committing machete murders in Mexico City parks like MS-13 is doing here in D.C.?

Are there millions of American illegals driving around Mexico with no car insurance?

Are there tens of thousands of violent American felons living free of any extradition worries here in the US after committing their crimes down in Mexico?

Does Mexico have a President that thinks all of this is actually good for Mexico?

Thanks Cool Hand. Not very surprised, but with all the crap flying around today, I like to see confirmation.

My understanding is that MS13 was formed in response to the Mexican gangs that were riding El Salvadorians..

But this is OT
