Err, wouldn't being threatened with a gun be a predictor of someone getting a gun for protection? Isn't that completely obvious? To say otherwise is like calling a broken leg a predictor of a fall. Granted, yes, some people obviously do get a gun for protection first, but that doesn't cause them to be threatened. Even then, their chance of being threatened would still be the predicate.

Likewise, people who smokes crack and deal with (or are) dealers are in a high-risk situation (and have a disregard for the law) which could predict whether they would would break another law/rule to carry in a "gun free zone" for protection.

Either way, this "study"doesn't even pretend to try to provide a linear correlation. Let alone even rise to the level of a post hoc fallacy..

- People in dangerous areas are more likely to get a gun for personal protection.
- People in dangerous areas are more likely to be threatened with a gun.
- Thus, having a gun for personal protection is "a predictor" (which does not mean a cause) of being threatened with a gun.

Not to be pedantic, but the first step is usually taking control of the currency. Which the so-called "progressive" socialist/globalists accomplished already via the Federal Reserve. So, err, yea, it's already started. Disarming the populace is really kind of a final step, as the level of control thereafter is only governed by a leader's thirst for brutality and even more power.

I wish I could find it, I can't, but there's an opinion out there somewhere where "Justice" Brennan states outright that the members of the legislative and judicial can't be expected to understand the complexities of statistics and rigorous scientific analysis. So true there as here...

Gun "control" has never, isn't, and never will work; except, of course, for totalitarian dictators who recognize the threat of an armed citizenry.

If your basic premise is that the "streets will run red with blood" when honest citizens arm themselves and are willing to act in defense of themselves and their fellow citizens, you perpretrate a bald-faced lie while ignoring centuries [indeed, millennia!] of history.

The real question is: To what end?

They deserve our utmost contempt...and condemnation as the Constitution-deniers they are.
