Brady bunch say you probably smoke crack

What their study probably did was look at folks who got arrested, and then see how many of the GANGSTAS had guns on 'em too...
+1: I bet you're right.

It's perfectly believable that armed criminals generally commit worse crimes than unarmed criminals, and have various addictions to show for it.

well yeah, if Im a friggin crack head in a gang who owns a gun sure. But owning a gun is not going to make you be one. Just lie it wont make you be a drunk a murderer or a redneck(not that theres anything wrong with the last one). Now Im not saying the gun wont be the cause of a serious addiction and eat up a lot of your time and money that may or may not be better spent elsewhere like feeding the starving pygmies down in new guinia. But the gun sure aint gonna make you buy crack.

Now there's a potential sig line: "No money for crack: spent it all on ammo."

Taken directly form the Brady Campaign Public Information Policy Manual:
When citing studies and facts in reports and press releases, do not bother actually finding facts, conducting surveys or commissioning studies to support your point. These things cost money, money that can be better spent flying Jim and Sarah around the country in private jets and putting them up in posh hotels. It is much cheaper and easier to just make up the facts you are looking for. Nobody will actually check to see if these statements are accurate. The general public is not very intelligent and will believe anything we say as long as its prefaced with something like "According to a Brady Campaign Study".

gun owners are more likely than other students to binge drink, need a drink first thing in the morning, use cocaine or crack, be arrested for a DUI, vandalize property, and get in trouble with the police.

I've owned guns since I was 14 and I've never "binged" on anything, I've never even smoked cigarettes, I was told by my parents that taking drugs was very bad and that was enough for me. I don't even drive much less DUI, I was raised to respect my elders and other peoples property, I've never been in trouble with the police I don't completely trust them but I was taught respect them.

and harder to acquire the high-capacity firepower wielded by the Virginia Tech shooter.”

I wonder if they're trying to say high capacity magazines are evil:evil: ...

I love the smell of bigotry in the morning, it smells like.......victory.

They are just saying whatever they can to get attention. I think they finally realize that they are losing and panic has set in. Thus this report.

Their next report: Gun owners are meanies!!!!!!!!

I prefer weed. It helps me relax when I'm at the range. The only problem is that I find myself eating at every ceasefire. :neener:

The Bradyites sure do seem to be getting desperate. I think they expected more of a response to guns than the general public gave.

Is it possible that we are finally winning?

Doubtful.

I'd like to think so, but I believe that we're just seeing a lull in the storm. If the left makes a lot of gains in '08, expect to see a lot of things going against us.

Remember, civilized and enlightened people don't need firearms.

I'm the eternal optimist. I think so. I think they're really scrounging now. Since empty slogans died in the 1990s ("for the children") and now groups actually have to be accountable for what they say, I think the Bradys are fighting a 90* uphill battle. They're going to lose, but I say, let's fight harder to make them lose even faster.

Schools as "sanctuaries" that's a load of manure. Students commit suicide with guns? Really? Most suicides I've heard of are by pills and booze or throwing oneself off a precipice. Autoerotic asyphxiation is also quite popular.

Well, I did drink tea this morning. It was, like, pretty strong tea and stuff. Do you think I should look into getting some help?

As the nation's largest national, non-partisan, grassroots organizations leading the fight to prevent gun violence, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence is dedicated to creating an America free from gun violence, where all Americans are safe at home, at school, at work, and in their communities.

That right there should be enough of an assessment for the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence to be in the DSMV-IV , and used as criteria to diagnose a number of Mental Health illnesses and diseases...

Now I am convinced I went to college at the wrong time. Sounds like these boys have not been smoking crack, but dipping into the dried banana peels.

I agree, the first drink I want in the morning is coffee.

When you see the 'According to a Brady Campaign Study (or Survey)', start looking around for a large deposit of bovine excrement.

The only thing a 'low-capacity' magazine would have done for the VT shooter, would be for him to reload more often. Instead of having 3 30-round mags, he would have lugged around 9 10-rounders.

Again more bovine excrement. It's getting deeper all the time.

It does sound like the Brady Bunch know they're losing and are getting desperate, hence, the fabrication of "facts." Even so, I can't believe even the Bradyites would say something so monumentally moronic. I, like most High Road'ers own firearms. I have NEVER touched a cigarette or illegal drug, I have never had a DROP of booze. I have NEVER been in even the slightest trouble with the law. Not even so much as a speeding ticket. And yet, the Bradys...wow.

Well, my best friend smokes weed.

Since I only own replicas, would that be the equivalent to owning real guns and smoking crack?

Seriously, they need to put down their own pipes.

Hmmm... maybe it's time to take down that poll in General Gun Discussions that has over 25% of respondents acknowledging that they've mixed guns with alcohol or drugs.

I say we round up all the bradyniks and airlift em to Baghdad. Drop em into some nice needy neighborhoods and let them work their magic at disarming the citizenry there and see just how successful they are at stopping the violence..."for the children". If they succeed in Baghdad (hell if they even survive the assignment) we can then discuss some of their plans for dealing with violence in America. Until then they can go pound sand and suck hind teat.
