Anyone have information on why the sale of guns at Buds Gun Shop has dramatically changed from in Stock to Retail Store Only?

I used to buy the majority of my firearms from them, but here recently, every time I do a search for a firearm I'm looking for, it comes up as Retail Store only.

CH

S&W revolvers are either “Out of stock” or “Retail store only”.

Stay safe.

Seems obvious to me. With firearms being in limited supply I would also choose to keep the cases at my retail location stocked over selling online.
I would agree if that were happening with other online merchants, but that isn't the case. I was just wondering if maybe it could be related to any new legislative measures in that state that might be the reason for the change.

I've seen this happen these last several weeks with a couple of different ammo types I'm looking for. If I could find any anywhere often enough it was "in store sales only." I would have no problem believing this is the case with certain firearms as well. They've only got a relative handful left in their stock so they are going to save them for their retail stores.

This isn't going to get any better until the election. Maybe not even then.

Buds hasn't gone that route on ammunition yet. However, they do indicate that you have to be a TEAM BUDS member for certain types of ammunition. Understandable that they would want to save the little inventory they have for their retail stores. Hoping it's only temporary. Until then, it's good that their are other vendors who I can conduct business with. But there's no one like your first....... ;)

I suspect that the product listed as in store only is already at the physical storefront location and would require paperwork and shipping fees that they don’t want to deal with, especially in a situation where they are already stressed to keep up with the customer influx. When I went to the Sevierville store a few weeks ago there were several folks in the store and all of the employees were tied up helping customers. I felt lucky to catch a guy stocking shelves to point me towards the restroom for my daughter to go potty. Tying up resources to move product out of that location to lose money by sending it somewhere else to sell it for the same or less simply does not make sense.

Not everyone runs their business in the same manner. What works for one may not pencil out for another. Free shipping from buds right? Nothing is free, they pay for that. Why cut into your profits shipping guns around when you can’t meet the demand for sales in your physical locations?

I would suspect it's most likely this, or it could be that when you buy from Bud's on-line you're actually getting it drop shipped from a distributor (which Bud's may own) in a Bud's box, with Bud's paper work. Who knows? Who cares! Every company is having issues these days, it's not all some conspiracy.

See below: Ships free means that if it is in stock "IT SHIPS FREE," looking below the picture it shows "Retail Store Only" When I contacted them about it, they said that retail store only means that it is only available for purchase as the actual "store"

i did a search on the guns you mentioned, but what i found, was what i posted.

Im bout 2 hours away from the Sevierville store ..
and if I purchase there I pay TN sales tax , right at 10% ... And then my wife will want to go to the shops ... ouch ... I have pretty much decided to wait till spring , to purchase a firearm ( unless I find a deal ) hopefully this buying frenzy thing will be over

I have been to the Lexington store several times. The inventory online is stored in a separate location. There have been times I have bought a gun from them online only to have them ship it to the retail location so I can pick it up. Alternately I have bought guns in the store that weren't even listed on their website.

When you are looking at items on the website, unless otherwise mentioned you are viewing their warehouse inventory.

When they run low it first changes from online to Team Buds Club and then when it's lower stock to Retail Store Only.

It just depends on the amount of stock available in that firearm.

Had thought about paying for the team buds membership, but decided against it. Does anyone have membership? Is it worth it?

TIA

Well I bought one to get a p365 with safety. Even with the membership price I saved money. I have not used the membership since but I still have like 10 mos. and in this era of firearm shortage I have a good chance to use it again. Everything else was great, shipping, etc.

It appears that shipping means handing the gun to you across the display case.

I have one. Faster shipping and access to some guns earlier than non-members. Worth the nominal fee to me. But it doesn’t help with the “Retail Store Only”. I’ve been frustrated lately as well.

It's really not hard. If they have a bunch, anyone can order them.

It hey don't have so many, you need to join Team Buds to order them.

When you get right down to it and supplies are low, come in FTF to order it.

Could be that the online and brick front are set up as two different corporations and thus have independent operations...
