NO. Unless I am 100% certain I will be acquiring that firearm in that caliber shortly. I am currently buying components for 50 bmg and 223 even though I have no rifles that can fire those calibers. I'll have them completed in a month or two though.

I have accidentally bought a few rounds in calibers like .222 Remington and .22 Savage Hi-Power that were mixed in with ammo that was buying to use.

I wish that I had bought some .223/5.56 ammo before I bought my AR. I look back and see Lake City over run listed at $199 per case, from 6-8 months before I bought the rifle. When I bought the rifle, I bought a case of PMC (which is fine ammo, BTW) for $299+sh from Outdoor Marksman- and that was a sale price.

Bought some .50 BMG from Barrett a few years ago and handed them out to friends for Christmas. :D

I picked up a 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 from Academy when they were selling it for 3 dollars a box back in November. Can't afford the SKS or WASR to go with them until after I put some BUIS on my AR-6.8.

sounds like a waste of valuable resources to me. your money, plus, somebody else that actually owns the caliber you just bought is looking for ammo, and now can not find it. makes no sense to me.

Bought a box of Hot Shot .308 so I could have some for a picture I was making. IIRC, it was about $6/20 rounds
