Do you have guns for which you have no ammo?

Mine is the exact opposite, I've got ammo for guns I haven't got!

I've got something like 250 rounds of Romanian 8mm Mauser ammo on stripper clips that I bought for the Mauser I never got.

Also I've got a box of Remington .45's that I bought for the 1911 I never got!

Or maybe Mcat bumped the thread in hopes of selling his or her 100 rounds of 7mm. BR factory ammo. That could be a good reason for them to do it.

Reversed.

I am the opposite. I have different ammo and dies for guns that I have sold. Getting a pretty good collection now. I have dies for 257 Weatherby, 260, 270, 45LC, 6.5X55, 223, 30-30, 30-06, and 300 Savage along with brass and bullets and loaded ammo. I call it my retirement fund.:D

Catch 22 :banghead:

I kind of figure that if a thread is open, it can be commented on if on topic, regardless of age. If the moderators do not want comments on threads after a certain age, they should close the thread.

I've got an old Webley revolver that takes .38 S&W, but I don't have any ammo in that caliber. I wonder if I could convert it to fire something else?

For a Webley, I'd buy a box of ammo and start reloading. I always thought it might be fun to try loading .38 S&W with round balls for fun plinking loads.

Yep. If a new guy asks about 1911's, AR-15's, or anything else, we complain because he didn't use the search feature. If he does use the search feature and happens to resurrect an old discussion, we complain about that.

Why can't we just talk about guns and have fun?
Reminds me... I need to check out the Blackpowder Shooting discussion again.

I have no .32-20 pistol ammo for a S&W Model of 1905 I own. I hope to remedy that.

I have ammo for every gun I own and even some for guns I no longer own.

I actually made this easier on myself as I limit the chamberings of the guns I do own to six (.22lr, .357, .45LC, .480, 9mm & 5.56) plus one shotgun gauge (12ga). If a new gun comes home, it's in one of those chamberings, so no worries of no ammo for a new toy.

No, but I have ammo for guns I do not own or don't own any more.

In the vein of the thread, if I have something old or odd, I don't necessarily need to have ammunition for that particular firearm. I have enough that never or seldom get shot that I would not worry about having a gun with no ammunition.
That would be me as well.

I'd try that... but there are some guns that would just be too cool to walk away from, in spite of their odd chamberings. For example...

A Uberti Colt conversion. I don't own anything in .44 Colt, .44 Special, .45 Colt, or .45 Schofield. I'm not set up to reload any of them. I'd still like to have one (especially in .45 Colt.)

A S&W 657. I have never even held a .41 Magnum round. It's not exceedingly rare and loading it can't be any different than reloading .357, except a little bigger. Still, it'd be odd. But I'd like to have one.

Which happens to be specifically against forum policy.

That post is gone and unless someone really wants it reopened, I'm going to close this thread....PM me if you really think it does something a new thread wouldn't do better and in a more time considerate manner.
