ive been looking real close at the Finnish M28-76 Target Rifle 7.62x54R, and it looks so close to a mosin nagant action, that im really interested to know if the parts will interchange? I love my mosins, and wouldnt trade my m-44 for anything, but i love the dependability of the action so much that im not willing to change it in any way. however, ive been thinking of building a sportster on that format, and im not thrilled by the aftermarket parts available to make the conversion. i got a 91/30 and m44 that i wont sacrifice just to try out new stuff. anyone been there, done that?

Probably in the wrong forum, but I'll answer anyway. :) The M28-76 is indeed a mosin. All Finn mosins used existing receivers that the Finns had collected and barrels of Finn manufacture or at least to finnish specs in Belgium and other places. The bolt handle on the 76's are a little odd, but that's all

I own 3 mosins. A Hungarian m44, a Finn-captured 1941 Izhevsk M91/30, and a Finn-captured 1933 Tula M91/30. But no real Finns. Yet. I'll be getting an M39 in February.

Matt.
