and apparently legal for those who don't as well. It's not like these people only sell these badges to people who actually have a permit.

Agreed.
You took the words right out of my, err, off of my keyboard. :)

Just doesn't make sense to me.

If you're carrying CONCEALED, you obviously don't want it known that you are carrying... if you don't want it known that you are carrying, why would you advertise it with a bright shiny badge?

In any case, wouldn't a neon sign saying "GUN HERE" with flashing arrows pointing to the location of your firearm be much more effective? ;)

I carry my Concealed badge next to my spare high cap mags loaded with Extreme Shock.

Unless you plan on a game of cowboys 'n injuns (should I have said native Americans?)

Cowboy? That would be "Bovine Transportation Specialist". Sheesh, some folks are so darn insensitive! ;)

You know, being a fairly new permit holder, I have mused many situations in my head about the need to confront an attacker. It seems to me that the person in the video made a few tactical errors. Perhaps when the wife was calling 911, she should have told the dispatcher that her husband was armed, and was holding the scum... I mean suspect at gunpoint.

Next, wouldn't you attempt to put the person on the ground, with his hands out?

Next, it would seem that the police officer would probably tell you to drop your weapon pretty quickly when arriving? Sakes, they probably would even put the handcuffs on you too until they sorted everything out, but I do think that "Drop the Gun" might be one of the first things out of the officer's mouth.

Finally, it would seem to me that to turn with the gun towards the officer is pretty crazy.

So, I guess I can save my money, and just be smart!

here in Tennessee it is illegal to detain a "scumbag"at gunpoint.the second the fear of death or severe body injury is gone you can not use your weapon, but honestly if I was in a situation like that I would have my gun in the back of his head until leo where on scene!

CCW badges are for losers and wannabes.

Instead of buying a shiny bit of metal, pick up some more ammo to practice with, or a book on self defense shooting such as Massad Ayoob's "In the Gravest Extreme" or Louis Awerbuck's "Tactical Realities."
