Confederate flag removed from memorial site

The war was not about slavery ...initially. Enough has been said.
The war was about states rights. Enough has been said.

The flag may have developed a racist cast since it's adoption by modern racist groups :banghead:

But the "Stars and Bars' also known as the Confederate Battle Flag was the least often displayed flag of the Confederacy.

I beleive if we forget our history we are doomed to repeat it. (who said that?) The flag of the Confederacy (any of the flags) should be flown at all Confederate monuments. I see nothing wrong with southern states haveing it on their state flag. Its part of their history and culture. Poltical Correctness has no place in issues of history.

Friends, this is one debate that is virtually guaranteed to generate more heat than light. Thanks to all of you who've kept it civil so far, but this has no place on The High Road. It's a very personal issue to millions, but has nothing to do with RKBA - heck, it's not even distantly related! Closing this one down to avoid future heat.
