IMO the 7BR is a better choice, more capacity and stronger case. Can use lapua BR cases.
The issue with these is reload only but while you are at it I think at least make it easy to own and reload cat.
I fear that if you are itching with a new wilcat bug then it will be hard to resist.
What about the 6.5BR or 7mm Gunner? ....
6.5BR is perfect for the AR and also a Remington 700 with AR bottom mag or any other
mini action that provides a .473 (308) bolt face. It takes off with the 123gr bullets where the LBC/grendel struggle a little.
7mm Gunner using a 284 case (short) as donor and a more civilized shoulder for helping with autoloaders.
Works great in the AR15 6.8, grendel and 7.62x39 mags up to 5-6 rounds. Performance
very close to 7mm-08 for bullets up to 150gr.
I designed this one. A bit more involved. Also nice option for the AR or a mini action if that is desired.
