A good opportunity to practice your combat knife skills?

Sunray, you should volunteer to trap the coons and take them back to Canada where they are apparently endangered species. The coons where I live are LARGE and MEAN. They are pests, albeit cute looking ones.

Things are different down here. At least where I live, Racoons fall in a class of nuisance animals including coyote, ground hog, possum, skunk, fox, and a few others. While there may be a season to go out hunting them, your perfectly within your rights to kill one that is destroying your property. In fact, if captured in a live trap your only legal recourse is to release it on the property where it was caught or kill it.
The decrease in the value of hides has made a major drop in hunting and trapping and racoons are grossly overpopulated and diseased. The whole northeast is falling under an outbreak of rabies.
Thinning them out is what needs done, they could just about put somebody with a truckpatch farm out of bussiness destroying crops, and they're not bashful around pets or people. Having them around is a good way to get rabies.

the redneck spells it out much better than i did. hes dead nuts right too. one of the reasons i hate the buggers so much is the havock the wreck on corn fields. i have a relativly smallish farm , 250 acres (for these parts), and i cant plant sweet corn for a proffit anymore, damned coons love the stuff. to put this into perspective, i used to put in about 20 acres, and sell most of it out of a stand out front. last year we bothered there may have been 3 or 4 acres of good corn left. highspeed lead injections help, but theres only so many hours in the day and last i tried to wipe out the surplus population, i got mono from staying out all night.

WhiteKnight, yes, I can't ever remember all the letters unless I look at the barrel stamping. Multiply my amnesia by 100,000 people and soon everyone will call it the .17 magnum. You can be #2 if you hurry!
