She live in MI, and I know she was previously looking for reports from people who had problems will thier local police denying, delaying, adding requirements that arent specifieid in MI law, etc. I believ she is quite active in MI right to keep and bear arms (RKBA, since you asked earlier) issues, and may know some good info and contacts to help you out.

or, maybe YOU are under investagation along with your sister? if that is the case, they certainly are not going to tell you that! the fire thing sounds totally bogus to me. unless you are a suspect in the investegation for that. don't get me wrong, i an certainly NOT accusing you of anything. i have no idea who you are, or what your personality is like. the cops investagate a lot of people without ever filing any charges or finding any wrong doing. and if you are completely inocent of all, then by all means, apeal the leuitenants decision. maybe you should watch over your shoulder for a while to see who is watching you! BIG BROTHER CAN BE EVERYWHERE! i am not trying to discourage you, just pointing out a possibility. i do not know how you could find out if you were under investagation. i am sure the cops wouldn't tell you. and they have done away with "police scanners" so that eliminates that posibility. i wish you luck!

The one thing that seems to be missed, Law enfforcement doesn't have to do anything. They are not even required by law to respond to a 911 emergency call!

and why the cops would look at me for something my sister did is ridiculous... again i will say i have no criminal record.

Explain the circumstances and get his advice. You might actually need legal representation and not just advice.

I also wouldn't discuss the details any further with anyone else except Jim, either in person or on-line, until everything is resolved.

This could be a bigger deal for you then just not getting a purchase permit. Get real legal advice NOW.

We're only hearing one side of the story. Sounds to me like you are considered a person of interest by the police. They could easily have an on going investigation and you're the star of the picture.

thank you for the info esq_stu, but how can i get a cpl dont i have to do that with the police to? so are we all in basic agreeance that they havnt even put my app through to NICS? if so if i filed an appeal for denial with the NICS what would happen?

First, the CPL goes through the county, and doesn’t have much to do with city, if any at all. It isn’t their call.

Second, this has nothing to do with NICS, so there is nothing to appeal. The NICS won’t be run until he goes to purchase the gun, and he won’t do that until he gets the permit to purchase.

Based on what has been posted, it sounds more like RO is just finding excuses to deny him, and it will probably get straightened out when the lawyer contacts them.

well all has settled

i forgot i even made this post on here its been so long... well i sent my NICS stuff in and recieved my approval letter faster than i expected. i have since picked up a kimber supermatchII sold it and nabbed a walther pps in .40 as my carry gun oh yea i got my ccw haha... i just wish the royal oak police wouldnt have hastled me so much, but i guess they just wanna be careful who knows?
well anyway just thought i should let ya'll kno how it all turned out.
