Somewhat similar to the tactical loadout topic, but I wonder how many fellow Highroaders make special allowances for this holiday, if at all and why. For that matter, is there another holiday you you tend to make special exceptions for?

Was I out and about?

Does a fish urinate in his drinking water?

As a matter of fact I had to be out shopping for a new clothes dryer since my old one decided Sunday evening was as good a time as any to cease functioning. Some of the Big Box stores aren't in the greatest areas so not only was I carrying, I was being extra vigilant.

I carried the LCP in my front pocket, just in case the ghouls got out of hand.

When I was in costume at Halloween parties (typically the weekends leading up to Halloween)? Nope. Alcohol and firearms don't mix and there was quite a bit of alcohol involved.

I did carry when I had my nieces out trick or treating (last night) though.

I carry...there was no reason to treat Halloween night any different. My neighborhood was very quiet. Only a few kids out.

I was at class for most of the day. But I carried to and from class and the rest of the day.

it was on monday when i decided to get a subway sandwich before going going, since the Subway wasnt in the best part of town i put my CCW piece on me when i got out of the car. A nice $5 later when i walked outside a homeless guy got extremely aggresive at me for making eye-eye contact with him and started screaming his head off while advancing toward me. After telling him to back off several time he took a blade out of his pants and i had to draw down on him

So yeah, there's my halloween, had to file a police report and they promised that they'll find the guy but i highly doubt it

No carry. Halloween Party at the "Yacht Club". Much alcohol and revelry. I did have a big knife on, and flashlight as part of my costume though.

Implied subtext?

Is there an implied subtext here in the very question? That some of us have so little self-control and judgment (and are so "trigger-happy") that it's not prudent for us to carry on Halloween, for fear that we might blast away first and ask questions later when encountering ghosts, goblins, zombies and other "threats"?

Gimme a break. I know there was a famous (and tragic) case once of a homeowner opening fire on a trick-or-treater at his door, but that is hardly characteristic of the gun-toting community.

No, but my brother carried one of my airsoft pistols as part of his costume. It would probably be rather affective on mean dogs, though. lol.

Trick or Treat.. oh yea

...

Yep, as my *wife wanted to open our front door for the kids this year *(being 24 months sober - praise the_Higher_Power) so with front porch lights on, 5:45pm, and they came, and came, and came until we shut it down at 8:30pm..

With a big smile, I had my EMP 1911 9mm in front waist and during the last hour (that's when the older kids always show up) I also had my Sig P220R/45 in my back pocket - either gun unseen by my baseball type-shirt being out

Was a very natural, "balanced" feeling w/both guns but -

Nowhere near the comfy feeling w/a German Shepherd up on the stair case as it was for so many years, looking down at the front door, and me

That was having your back covered (better than any gun/s) IMHO

I carry all the time. Halloween is no different. I'm not scared, I'm not worried, I'm not pumped up to shoot anyone. I carry my pistol no different than I wear shoes --they both go on when I go out the door.

Sadly....this kid did.

*facepalm*

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina officials say a 10-year-old trick-or-treater pulled a handgun on a woman who joked that she'd steal his Halloween candy.

The Augusta Chronicle reported Tuesday (http://bit.ly/sCv0B7 ) a 28-year-old woman told authorities she recognized some youngsters Monday evening and she joked she'd take their candy.

Aiken Public Safety Lt. David Turno says a 10-year-old in the group said "no" and pointed the handgun at her.

Turno says the gun wasn't loaded but the boy had a clip of ammunition. He was taken to the police station and was turned over to his parents.

Turno said the boy's brother, who is also 10, told officials he also had a gun and both weapons were recovered by police. Turno says the boys got them from their grandfather without his permission.

I carried my .38 all day, until I started drinking.

I carried my "costume rifle" while taking the kids trick or treating. I took my Mosin out of its stock and taped a piece of PVC on as the "barrel", it was quite a head-turner.
