For those of you with a lot of guns, ammo, and other weapons, do you keep them all in one place, or do you have a few scattered about your house in case you don't have your carry weapon on you if something happens?

I have no choice but to "scatter" them as I have so many they don't fit in one place. :p

But really, they are all in one general area. But I have so many hammers, screw drivers, baseball bats, and other vicious instruments of death laying around, anyone breaking in will wish I just had a firearm next to me so it would be simple and quick.

I have my safes in one room and my small, carry gun locker in another for convenience sake. No need to scatter.

It's hard to find any open space here that doesn't have a handgun on it. Perhaps if I spent less time at the range and more time cleaning...

Seriously, our designated storage area is overflowing. The cabinet is double stacked, there are guns leaning in most corners, and while burrowing through the closet the other day I ran across a single-shot 20 gauge I'd forgotten we had.

It didn't start out as part of a "cache plan," but it's really hard to be more than five feet from a firearm in this house. Some of them are loaded, and for the ones that aren't, it's a pretty good bet there are a couple of full magazines on top of the TV. Or on the table. Or on the freezer by the door.

I keep the XD45 really close to the bed, the Mosin is in an easy t0o reach place downstairs, and the rifles are in the bedroom closet just in case I need to arm my GF and my dog.

I keep one in the butter dish of the fridge. That way I'm good if anyone ever invades my home and stuffs me in the fridge! :neener:

I have at least one gun in every room of the house, including the laundry and bath rooms, plus guns in the safe, plus guns in a closet, plus guns in bank boxes.

I'm just trying to keep them from multiplying.

Daily carry gun and nightstand pistol are always close by.Spare, ultra high capacity mags abound plentifully. The rest are locked away in my carry briefcase.

Man, thought I was on the wrong forum for a second there. :D

Much to my wife's chagrin, I have shooting stuff all over the house as well. It's not tactical, it's just disorganized. :neener:

I used have a revolver in each room for a
total of 5 gun.I decided it was just easier
to carry one on my belt than to have them
scattered about the apt.

In 1991 my wife's parents were killed by an intruder with a tire iron. My father in law had guns but all were in a closet out of reach.
Even out in the country with almost no crime bad things can happen quickly and without a reason.
After 15 years, it's still tough. My kids are grown now but really missed their grandparents while growing up.

So... now I keep an 870 behind the front door loaded with rubber buck shot and lead buck shot( rubber buck shot for the neighbor's dog peeing on my tires), CBOB 10mm beside my recliner, 45 STI Ranger at my bed, 22 Marlin beside back door ( for stray cats in trash can).

Paranoid? No.
Prepared? Yes.

You mean the whole house isn't supposed to be one big cache?:what:
Oh well. We keep most of the more valuable ones locked up in the safe, while we each have a carry on us. (There may be one or two more floating around the house, but I'll never tell.:D ) For safety's sake, we have to keep them all under supervision. (Due to a 2 year old running around.)

I hide them everywhere , all over the house so I can get to them in whatever room Im in. Only problem is I hid them so well I can not find them !!
Now I went and bought some new ones and keep them all in the same place and I can now always find them. Wait whats this on the side of my computer,
Found one !!!!!!! :neener:
