I have 2; a basic one with a nice laminated stock and a full stock "mannlicher" which is my favorite of the two. I don't really get into mods for them, just not my thing. They are fun, very reliable plinkers but are far from being my favorite .22's.

I have one. It is a great little .22. I have a Marlin as well, and like it too. The 10/22 is a great design and they have sold millions for good reason.

It would be silly to swear off great guns of any make.

So yes, I have a 10/22, and like it a lot. :)

"It would be silly to swear off great guns of any make."

You know why they're great? Because there are so many options for aftermarket parts to make them reasonably accurate and improve the dreadful trigger pull. ;) Sort of like hotrodding a Honda Civic.

I owned a 10/22 nearly 20 years ago. That particular one had more problems than the Marlin 60 I grew up with. It got traded towards a S&W snubnose revolver. Back then I didn't know better and had no internet to find out the 10/22 probably just needed a little tweaking or different ammo.

The 10/22s I've fired in the last five years run just fine and are plenty accurate, too.

Still, I don't own a 10/22 just because I've gravitated towards different guns and I have access to one 10/22 on a regular basis.

My grandson has a 10-22 compact. My granddaughter has a stainless with a gray/black laminated stock. My wife has a 10-22 deluxe sporter. I have a deluxe sporter, a standard carbine. a stainless in a t-6 stock and a blue in a t-6 stock. we also have about a dozen spare mags to make range trips easier.

3 so far in my lifetime. One was a stainless target. I traded it for a small block 283 steal crank & stroked away.

Ruger 10/22

FlyinBrian: I think it is aginst the law not have 2 or 3 10/22`S around the house. The RUGER is so much fun to shoot and so reliable I can`t belive just about every body doesn`t, have one. We have never had any problems with any of the RUGER 10/22`s we have. GOOD LUCK YO YOU: ken

I sold my marlin 22lr to get a 10/22. They are both great rifles. The 10/22 has more aftermarket goodies.

The Ruger 10/22 was the first rifle I bought when I turned 18 many years ago. Still have it, along with a Butler Creek folding stock for when I want make it a little more compact. Mounted an old Weaver K2.5 scope on it and am still amazed by the accuracy of this rifle.

I like the pics CajunBass put in, 'specially the middle one. I "tricked-out" my last one with the heavy barrel, target stock and trigger job. I've shot many a turtle with it. I am looking for another stock one, they shoot good are alot easier to tote around. The new Ruger mags are great, too.. Why the question, OP ? I thought everyone owned at least one.

I used to own one many moons ago, and I built it into a full fledged gaming rifle with every custom part available at the time. No matter how much money I put in it still would not out shoot my Anschutz 164 Sporter so I eventually sold it and have never had any regret.

I own or owned 5 10/22 type rifles. All were bought used either from a pawn shop or police auctions back in the day. One is an all stainless steel 10/22 clone made by AMT called the Hunter II. One was given to my son who lives in Chicago, I am keeping it for him until he comes back to claim it. One was given to my daughter, I am keeping it for her until she graduates college in a couple weeks. All are pretty much stock except for slings, scopes or Tech Sights on them. All are pretty accurate.

I guess you guys who don't find your 10/22s accurate must be doing something wrong. I haven't found one yet that can't out shoot it's owner with the right ammo.

I've got 2 one is a stock gun from 1976 the other is a stainless that I put in a thumb-hole stock with a custom trigger both do a good job. I also have a Marlin 39a it will shot shorts, longs, long rifle and cbcaps. i use the Marlin with cb caps to hunt tree rats, never know what hit them.

After several years of shooting what seemed like expensive rifle + caliber combinations, I decided what I really needed to improve my marksmanship, and my bank account, was a rimfire rifle. 5 rimfire rifles later (and yes, I do still own all of them), I'm hooked. the 4th one, was a birthday present, from my wife, kids, and father:

It has become my daily shooter. I use it in combination with the Butler Creek magazine speed loader, and the Tactical Solutions Triple mag coupler. I removed the bi-pod, put on an old Whelen style leather sling, and just go to town on the little 40 yard rimfire range at the club.

It's without a doubt, the most you can have with your clothes on.

wow! better than 75% of voters own one! i guess hickok45 was right, and then some.

i really like those international models. i also took notice of the rear peep on madcrate's international. that must help greatly by virtue of not only being a superior style rear sight, but it looks like it almost doubles the distance between the front and rear.

nice looking pics everyone.

heres mine. i dont know how old mine is because i bought it in a pawn shop in tyler texas back in the mid 80's, so its at least 30ish.... just added the green mountain barrel and hogue stock a year or so ago. i have about $250 in it, not counting the scope.

Deluxe Sporter. What's not to like, besides how heavy the triggers can be?

I shoot my Savage MKII more, but that's just me. I still shoot the 10/22 plenty.

mine did have a trigger that was heavier than i liked, albiet clean and crisp.

i had a buddy massage it just a bit and it feels like it might be around 4lbs or so now. i would like to lighten it a bit more and see how much tighter i can make the gm barrel shoot, but its good enough for now i suppose.

Nope. Hate 'em. They're not bad, I just don't like them.

I prefer my Marlin 795, especially for the price, and if I want something accurate, a Savage Mark II will do the job nicely. No place in MY safe for one...

Bought one used in 71, still have it. Great plinker/trainer. Put a 3x9x30 scope on it recently to accommodate my old eyes.
