Does anyone have a dedicated home defense handgun?

No for me, if it's too large to carry it must mean it has a shoulder stock. So, lately it has been the Glock 17 for carry, home, and sports.

Until I find a spare $200 laying around for my permit, the Magnum Carry is a Magnum Nightstand.

 Dang, I didn't know that Jim Crow moved to Denver. 200 bucks? That is insane and/or 200 bucks worth of "infringed".

First choice: Remington 870 defender with 00 Buckshot
Otherwise, in my night stand: Glock 35 with 3 loaded clips and a Ruger P85 with 4 loaded clips
Wife: S&W Model 60, 3" barrel with 2 speedloaders
All stuffed with Federal Hydra-Shok JHPs

USP .45 + UTL

stays under my pillow at all times.

Will eventually be replaced with a USP Tactical

"Depends upon the room!"

I like that! Once I expand my gun collection I think the same will stand for my house :)

The stainless 9mm in the kitchen to go with the kitchen knives, etc

First line defense is a Mossberg pump with Federal #4 Tactical buckshot. The house handgun is a S&W model 19 .357 loaded with Winchester Super-X 38 Special +P 158 grain lead hollow point semi-wadcutters.

His: S&W 627
Hers: S&W 640

We love our S&W wheel guns, and have quite a few others, but these are the "dedicated" PD guns that stay in the bedroom at night.

None of our guns are for daily carry in our home state of Maryland, since our politicians have chosen to give our criminally inclined citizens every advantage and prohibited law-abiding citizens from carrying outside of our homes (subject to a few exceptions that nobody I know can squeeze through). We can lawfully carry in some other states, however, and have a S&W 386 and 342 for concealed carry purposes, mostly while backpacking.
