Double Action Revolver point of aim

I agree with Eddietruett's assessment. I guess owning and operating a couple of short barrel DAO revolvers has made me acutely aware of my trigger pull inconsistencies. It's something that I constantly strive to improve. The old adage "practice makes perfect" doesn't seem to apply here, for me anyway. It should be more like "practice will get you great improvement, but never perfection".

Practice only makes permanent...including any faults in your technique

Perfect practice makes perfect
First you have to learn the correct technique, then you have to use focused practice to ingrain it

I would encourage you to shoot, shoot, and shoot some more before coming to any conclusions.

Several years I began immersing myself in shooting SA's with an emphasis on accuracy 25 yds. and beyond. In no time I was shooting small groups and whacking game out to 50 yds. But occasionally I'd have the odd shot, or shots, that wouldn't go where they were supposed to. It was very frustrating. Then I had a memory from when I shot local High Power matches. A couple of my mentors pounded into my head what they referred to as "follow through". What this basically entails is NOT moving the firearm after the sear breaks. David Bradshaw, artist, handgun aficionado and moderator of www.singleactions.com, said to think of follow through as though you were shooting a flintlock with a very slow lock time. I applied this principle and things immediately began to come together.
