I just listened to an episode of Guns Over Texas Radio (http://gunsovertexasradio.com/). One of the four regulars on the show had just attended a self defense course taught by John Farnham. He talked about how many 1911 shooters were there...and what a disadvantage they suffered for having only 7 or 8 round mags. While that was just an exercise, it was designed to simulate real life self defense situations.

It's got me thinking. I'm carrying a Colt with 8+1. On my nightstand I keep a Springfield XDM45 4.5" with night sights--and 13+1 rounds of .45ACP. Five more shots before a reload. Hmmm. Time for a change?
