Encounter with Arkansas State Police

A while ago I was chatting with a motorcycle cop about his getting a speeding ticket in another part of the state. I liked his comment to the much younger cop who gave it to him:

"I've been a cop for 25 years. You can write a man a ticket OR give him a lecture, but doing both is WRONG!"

Dunno how I overlooked this thread. Not really anything for this forum. We've long ago established that cops are human, and not all of them know all facets of the law.

Sorta like the rest of us, really...
