My Dad gave me my first centerfire when I turned 15, it was a 99F in .308 Win.
Sadly, I had to sell it to pay bills back in college. I guess having a roof and food for a month and a half was better than sleeping in my car with my rifle.

They aren't rare around here by any means. At least 90% are 300 savage. But none look like the one in the picture. I often see many guns and think "what a waste" because they are 50-100 years old and look unfired. But for whatever reason, every 99 i see looks like hell. I have a 300 and a 308. Both rough. Ive seen probably 100. Even a couple in the "gun library" back in the day. They were well used too.
