Very difficult question cause I don't want the other 22's to hear me ;)

but..... the old dog trey, J.C. Higgins Mod 41 (aka Marlin 101) single shot has to be my sentimental favorite. But........ I just got this M69 Romanian Trainer that is simply amazing @ the range!.... (shhhhhhh)...and then there is.....ummmmmm... and........ oh well, I just plain love em all! Ya gotta love most every rimfire, they're simple, inexpensive (to shoot) and just plain fun!

I always love how everyone always tell people to go get a 10/22 when they ask about a .22 but when you ask what peoples favorite 22 are very few say 10/22.

Well mine is the 10/22. I've three of them, including the latest I picked up a couple of days ago.

I don't care for the standard carbine, I prefer the Delux Sporter (DSP) (2) and the Wally World special (1), but only because I think they look better.

I've got a Marlin 39a that I very seldom shoot, a Remington 597 that after very limited action seems pretty good, and an old Stevens 46 bolt action.

Remington 550-1 that my Dad gave me a few years back. His Father gave it to him in 1947 I believe. Very accurate and will shoot shorts & longs.

Favorite 22 rifle......

Has to be my Ruger M77/22, Target Grey and laminated stock. Most accurate rifle I've ever shot. :D Just scary accurate......:)
I've shot as many as 6 clay pidgeons, at 200 yard. In a row with out a miss.:)
Make me look like a better shot than I really am......:)

Marlin glenfield 60 .22lr coon slayin machine:evil:
winchester 9422 .22mag Squirrel worts nightmare:D
and last but certinly not least stevens 72 crackshot sparrows terror:)
all are acurate and and are true too there discriptions.

My favorite would have to be the Springfield bolt action that my Grandfather gave me. It's an exact replica of a Springfield 30-06 military rifle, but chambered for .22LR. Original peep site. Shoots straighter than any .22 I've ever shot.

Easy answer to this one.

Glenfield Marlin Model 60. 28 years old and still kicking. All original parts and is a great little shooter. It will be my grandsons second rifle.

Speaking of .22's you got to love Remington. I requested an owners manual for my 572. I got a vintage manual in the mail today. I am not sure how old it is but it isnt a new one. It was back when they would tell you exactly how to totally tear down your gun to fix it. Now I have an old maunal to go with my 40+ year old rifle.

The 788 manual was just a copy. That was kind of a bummer.

Kimber .22 Hunter, A fine trigger, and excellent accuracy.

My favorite is this J.C. Higgins. model 42.It's a great shooter, and probly one of the nicest looking .22 rifles I've ever seen.My dad got it for Christmas from his dad in the early 60's when he was about 12 or so, as his first gun.My dad did all the stock refinishing, checkering, glass bedding, and white line spacers himself some time in the 80's for fun.It was given to me in for Christmas of 2001 before I left for the navy. The gun itself is just a cheapo Sear's plinker, but the family history of it, plus the awesome looks (especially for a 22), make it priceles to me now that he has passed on last Thanksgving. It really is a very accurate shooter though, so it's not ALL looks and sentiment I like it for....

I have many .22s and this factory scoped, 1953, model 63 Winchester is my favorite. It has pretty wood and pretty blue and never seems to misfunction.

I've got a Marlin 39a that I very seldom shoot,

I have one too, and it shoots like a champ. I am of the opinion that a better .22 lever action rifle has never been made. I think my 10/22 is more versatile overall, particularly in terms of being a tinkerers gun, but the 39A is my close second. Emotionally, my model 1906 Winchester pump rifle is my favorite, as it is the first gun I ever bought, period. I think I was 10 or something, and my dad took me to this old guys house and I bought it. It's pretty beat up, but it's still a fun plinker that I shoot fairly often. Thats one gun I will never sell. Realistically, my rifle had a long, rough life before I even bought it to compare fairly with my 10/22's or my 39A, and I can't say that I would pick that specific model over either one anyway.

So, in the end, it comes back to the 10/22 for me.

My Polish WZ48 training rifle. It's amazing how much fun I can have with a tack driving single shot rifle. Using shorts, it's nearly silent. So much fun. In fact, my wife pestered me until I gave it to her, so I really need another one. :)

Remington 582. My father's, with a 4x scope, dead accurate even with junk ammo. I'm currently looking for another for myself since he still uses his after 30 years.

Emotionally my Remington 581LH. It was my first gun in 1967. It still will cut 1/2" at 50yds.
Second would be my Walther KKJ, just a very sleek european styled sportster.
Third is my Marlin 39A. As stated before, no finer lever-action .22 has ever been made!

don't think I ever met a .22lr rifle I didn't like but from what I own it's

#1 Marlin 39A
#2 Marlin 60

YMMV
