I went to the local gun store today looking for another 9mm. So I grabbed a couple that I wanted to get rid of for trade in, a Walther PPK/S and Polish P-64. Both were well used. I only had $560 in both of these guns. Really wasn't expecting much trade value so I brought some cash to back me up. The dealer gave me a $450 trade-in value. I was surprised, told him what I was looking for and the first thing he showed me was a Glock 19. Nice! On to FN. Didn't like it. S&W M&P was next. Great gun! Close call now between the Glock and S&W. Then to Ruger. The SR9. What a beauty. I tossed the idea of the M&P so now it's down to the Glock and Ruger. I said, "I already have a Ruger P95, so I'll take the Glock." Wanted to experience a different brand. Took this baby to the range and pow. I really can't decide which is better, my new Glock 19 or my XD-9. I used it at a max of 10 yards. It took us a hundred rounds to warm up to each other. After that we were on target. It's a Gen 3 G19. Versus my XD-9 Sub Compact. It's a tie in my mind. I know the G19 is not a sub com, but that's all I have to compare it too. My Ruger P95, though great for the $$$, does not compare to the G19 or XD-9 SC. Well, besides the finger grooves, the grip is near the same on the XD-9 and G19. Frame on the XD is taller though. Overall, I am happy with the G19. She's a keeper.

Very nice, I love the Glock 19, but love my G26 even more. Have fun with it once you really learn it you will appreciate it even more especially with the trigger reset.

Congrats on your first Glock Gent! I also purchased my first Glockt today, a Gen 4 Glock 19. I ran 100 rounds through it tonight and think I am starting to get the feel for it. I was hesitant to buy the gen 4 based on some of the problems i have heard about but mine ran flawlessly. I also have an XDSC 9mm and haven't decided which one I like better, time will tell. They definalty are two different pistols.

Congrats on the new purchase. Glock 19's are awesome, and your Gen 3 will be a work horse to say the least. Check out all of the mods and accessories you can get for them. Also, take a look at some of the youtube videos out there, they can show you how to do alot of the mods yourself.

IMO, The Glock 19 (and the Glock 23 and Glock 32) are the perfect size.
I agree. There's very many attributes of the 19 that I can't stand. Still, it's a keeper and it's grown on me. I won't be trading it off after getting used to it. While having said that, I will never buy another glock again. The 19 is the perfect size for IWB carry for me. Well, at least until I can [strike]afford[/strike] (read: convince my cheapo self to buy) a high end bob-tailed 1911 commander.

My first was a 22, but I've settled on the 26 for CCW. I do have to say that I definitely like the 9mm Glocks better. For me, the little baby shoots like a laser.
