I went to the local gun store today looking for another 9mm. So I grabbed a couple that I wanted to get rid of for trade in, a Walther PPK/S and Polish P-64. Both were well used. I only had $560 in both of these guns. Really wasn't expecting much trade value so I brought some cash to back me up. The dealer gave me a $450 trade-in value. I was surprised, told him what I was looking for and the first thing he showed me was a Glock 19. Nice! On to FN. Didn't like it. S&W M&P was next. Great gun! Close call now between the Glock and S&W. Then to Ruger. The SR9. What a beauty. I tossed the idea of the M&P so now it's down to the Glock and Ruger. I said, "I already have a Ruger P95, so I'll take the Glock." Wanted to experience a different brand. Took this baby to the range and pow. I really can't decide which is better, my new Glock 19 or my XD-9. I used it at a max of 10 yards. It took us a hundred rounds to warm up to each other. After that we were on target. It's a Gen 3 G19. Versus my XD-9 Sub Compact. It's a tie in my mind. I know the G19 is not a sub com, but that's all I have to compare it too. My Ruger P95, though great for the $$$, does not compare to the G19 or XD-9 SC. Well, besides the finger grooves, the grip is near the same on the XD-9 and G19. Frame on the XD is taller though. Overall, I am happy with the G19. She's a keeper.
