For those who carry an LCP

I'm looking for a holster for my wife's LCP so I can pocket carry on those times that I can't carry a "big" gun and can pry it out of her purse:neener: One of the posters mentioned he didn't like it because there was too much coverage of the trigger guard and it didn't protect the mag release. WHAT?????? I have many, many holsters and NONE of mine can protect the mag release without covering most, if not all of the trigger guard. What kind of design is he referring to???? As a CCW Instructor, I recommend you ALWAYS carry in a holster that DOES NOT allow your finger inside the trigger guard until the gun is free of the holster. Personally, I feel this is even MORE important in a pocket carry as opposed to a hip carry method. Just my .02

does anyone make a holster that has a flap that covers the gun - like a book of matches? I carry my LCP in a pocket in my briefcase and want a little more discretion. If so, please PM me.

I've worn my AH for two days now. I can say without a doubt that its a fine holster. The two velcro strips I added were all it needed to be perfect. I also ordered a spare mag carrier for my H&K that goes in the weak side pocket. It also needed a strip of velcro. I works great now too. Heck, while I was at it my two IWB kydex holsters got strips of velcro too. It really helps stabilize the holster on your waistband!

Please ignore my pointing out the flaws and keep making them exactly the way you are.

Man,

Cool guy! Get on the internet and trash someone’s product with out having any first hand experience with it. I know several folks with one of his pocket holsters for their LCPs and all reports have been positive. Maybe you should provide some credentials concerning your expertise in holster making so that we can consider you opinion appropriately.

Trekgod3,

I don't agree with you. I can see the similarity and am sure that most anyone could, but the two holster designs are not the same.

The grandfather oak design has a much deeper curve at the holster bottom which may or may not be a good thing depending on the shape of the bottom of a person's holstering pocket. I do think that the original post subject holster has a higher propensity for repeatable secure positioning than does the holster that you bring to the fore, yelling "ripoff", as the two are, to repeat, not the same at all.

Also, how are you qualified to take exception to the biggest AH fan in the thread, Jon_in_wv, if you don't mind saying. Are you a bigger AH lover than he? :)

Looks the same to me...except the Grandfather Oak is molded better. Also, what or who is "AH"?

Since every leg is the same size, and every pants pocket has the same cut, and every person has the same criteria, the "perfect" pocket-holster for any particular gun, is, of course, entirely achievable. ;)

I give Alabama Holster kudos for entrepreneurism, American-Style, and for introducing another choice into a product-category that's needed.

Thats pretty petty to claim AH is ripping of Grandfather Oak. I mean just how many variations are there really for a pocket holster? I guarantee I can find a similar holster made by someone else before Grandfather Oak and then you can bash him. WHy has this forum become so danged whiney and hateful? Anything new comes along and you guys just trash it and complain instead of waiting to see if its worth a crap. Personally I ordered one and its a WORLD better than my Desantis I used to use. Its also a bit different in design than the Grandfather Oak holster so get your facts straight before you start popping off.

Your kidding right? This isn't even being REMOTELY intellectually honest.

Why do people "mold" concealed-carry holsters? Doesn't that just make them more likely to print?

Molding makes a holster less desirable to me!

I don't like pocket holsters to have a lot of molding. Molding does provide better retention for leather belt holsters.

Absolutely love this one. Bullard Holster.
Good retension and easy pocket draw.
Well made and classy looking

That is the point. You do not want the side facing out to be molded to the gun. You want it mostly smooth so it doesn't print. The side facing your leg should be molded to the gun to provide proper retention. That is how the Alabama Holster Co. holster is made. Here's a couple of pics. It looks like it's molded pretty good to me :D

Happy Fourth, everyone.

gwillis, those last two pictures don't show on my screen today. Check it out.

Just to make it clear, gwillis is employed by Alabama Holster.

There's nothing wrong with that, but it is always best to clarify.
Especially when the employee starts a thread praising his own product.

Seems to be a good product. I always like to hear feedback about holsters from everyone. The more we share honest experiences, the better off we are.

AH HOLSTERS AND OAKS holsters are not the same, why bash um. not sure there are a lot of ways to make a pocket holster that one would nto feel it is a copy of someone else's work.

very petty, very

I'll just say I ordered one for my LCP, so I can't wait to see it. Nemesis might work for some, but I've found it doesn't work that well for me.

Iv'e uses my AH holster now for about two months. Its a great holster. The only problem with it is that some of my shorts have a slanted pocket bottom and the bottom of the holster is flat. This make the weapon tilt forward a little bit. It works great in my flat bottomed pockets.
