Bought the first one Remington 788 because somebody had tried to refinish the stock and screwed it up and nobody at the gun shop wanted it, took it home and lookie lookie it shoots sub MOA. about a month later a 1941 model 70 showed up that had been converted to .222 and I "had" to get it. So that's the duplicate and the story behind it.

Two 9mm Glock pistols (G19 and G26).

Two .30-06 rifles (M1 Garand and Remington 700 BDL).

Otherwise, all my other firearms use their own ammo (.22, .223, 7.62x39, and so forth).

My bills are high enough buying ammo for the guns I have, let alone buying more guns and more amo to go with them. :cuss:

if it isn't a .357 (a group of HG's and 2 rifles) its a .45 (several Hg's and a Rifle ) .but lately I have added a few like a .380 BDA ,a enfield .303 (I had the ammo so I needed the gun !) 12 gauges and .410's and a few .22's and the 3 Mausers (great deal on mitchels ) , and a Lebel 8mm (only thrwn down once!!!) , and a Mas (armoury so never thrown down!) . I reload all except the shotties and the .22's (Duh !!) but someone gave me a large quanity of some .243,.270 ,and .300 win mag ammo got to save up and get some toys to use it up ! :what:

"...Is there any practical reason to own more than 1 gun of a certain caliber at a time?..." It's not the calibre/cartridge. It's the firearm. As in an M1 Rifle and a 1903A4. Or a No. 1 Mk III and a No.4 Mk I*. The calibre means nothing.

Hmm, seems they come in 2's for me.

My multiple gun cartridges.

.22LR x 2
9mm x 2
.357 Magnum x 2
.45 ACP x 2
7.62 X 39 x 2
12 gauge x 2

Working on - .308 x 2.

I have a 1925 Izhevsk M91/30, a 1942 B-barrel M39 & a 1943 SVT-40 (which doesn't work). All three fire 7.62x54r.

Coming from an englishman (or Brit) of all people. Take it from those who could "at very least" sleep with a firearm in the same room with them. :neener:

guns on hand

.22rf 2 rifles, 1 revolver, 1 automatic---- .380 1 auto.--- 9mm 2 high powers----- .45 1-LW carry, 1-Series 80 Targetpistol

.22 LR, 2 (2013, marlin 39A gold)
.177, 3 (powerline 4500, Hammerli AR50 Pro, Anschutz 9003) edit: (duh...cartridges...oh well)
20 ga, 2 (Ithaca featherweight s x s (c. 1920s), LC Smith Field grade s x s (c. 1915))

Right now only .45 ACP. One pistol for me (1911) and one for the wife (Ruger P-90). Did have two 9mm but ended up trading the wifes for a .22 for my oldest daughter. Wife never shot it anyway. Once she started on .45 she doesn't like any thing else.

.22lr
9x19 luger
7.62x54r
.303 Brit
8x57 Mauser

Once you buy the first gun in a particular caliber, you've made a commitment to that caliber, so it then becomes easy to buy another gun because it's a one-time investment.

6.5x55 Swede, 7.5x55 Swiss, .308 Win, 30-06 Springfield, and .45 ACP are all gonna join that list eventually. :D
