Hello all i have just traded a smith 908 for a glock 23 after shooting hundreds of rounds i love the gun.Im just worried about all the talk of kabooms with this caliber and make of gun should i be?
This is a perfect example of internet fear-mongering gone ramped. I have put several thousand round through both of my G .40s without a problem and so has most everyone else.
I own a Glock 27 (40s&w). The internet is a wonderful place if you want to start/feed rumors about anything. Yes, some Glocks have had problems with "being blown up" but no more than any other firearm. As FMJ said don't use reloads or cowboy loads (unless you are running an aftermarket barrel). I don't trust anything I read on the internet anyway without verifying it first. The Glock rumors about these guns "going off for no apparent reason" and "Glocks blowup because their chamber design is inherently flawed" amuses me. You Tube is a tool these guys use to propagate their rumors. Don't you just love the internet.
glock's "kaboom" for the same reason other pistols do
Glocks loose chamber specs and lack of full case support is also contributing to those kabooms and anyone claiming not is full of BS.....Period.
It is a FACT that once an unavoidable 'Kaboom' happens, a Glock chamber doesn't support the shattered case web very well.
You really are just trying to be difficult now.
I take it the difference between frequency and magnitude is lost on you?
