Glock 43: Full Review

Looks like a generally well constructed video. I'm looking forward to getting my 43 in.

Nice video. I want A 43 pretty much for the same reason I want a 42, because I just want a tiny Glock. I sold my Ruger LCP quite awhile ago because I came to the conclusion that there weren't really any situations where I couldn't carry my G23 concealed. Even with shorts and t-shirt weather I have no problem covering the 23 so not much point in carrying anything smaller.

As for the marring on the G43 finish you mention in the video, in my experience with Glocks, any marring is usually something else that rubbed off onto the Glock and can just be cleaned off rather than the finish of the Glock being harmed in any way. Any chance that is what you were witnessing with the 43?

Very well done. I bought a G43 earlier in the week. I have been packing a Shield 9mm for a couple of years, so I shot them side by side yesterday to the tune of 250 rounds. Both are very accurate and both are reliable. I thought about keeping the Shield and selling the Glock, but I have decided to keep them both.

The Shield has a home spun Dan Burwell trigger job vs. the stock 7.25 lb. Glock trigger. I shoot the Shield much better at spee. The Shield also holds an additional round. Taran Tactical is already making +1 and +2 magazine floor plates/extensions and I expect Pearce to follow shortly. Ghost has two after market connectors. So... tomorrow I am going to stipple the Glock, undercut the trigger guard, and order the connector. I agree, I wouldn't sell a G26 (packed one for years), a Shield, or a Karh to migrate over to Glock. I got it just because.

Thanks for watching!

Actually, I don't think it is other things rubbing on to the gun. I have experienced the same thing on my 26 and 19 that both have this finish.

I agree with you, I started carrying a kahr, and thought I couldn't carry anything bigger. Once I got used to the 26, it's just as easy to carry!

I'm glad you liked the vid!

Yeah its a tough choice shield or 43. I think I lean to the shield, even though I prefer the Glock to the m&p in full size flavor. I thought about a stipple and undercut on the 43, my 26 has both and I love that mod!

Well done. Interesting that in most direct comparisons I have seem, the Shield seems to come out on top.

Thanks, yeah when you get them both in your hand, the shield feels quite durable. The Glock feels somewhat like a toy. I'm not saying it won't last, but just in feel, the shield feels higher quality.

Quick question on the Shield. I recently went shooting with a buddy and I got to shoot his compact M&P 9mm. The main thing I did not like about that gun was the lack of a defined trigger reset like I am used to with Glock pistols. Does the Shield have a an obvious trigger reset "click" like a Glock or is it more like the Compact M&P?

Haven't shot a Glock in years, so I can't compare it (maybe someone else will chime in). The Shield and M&P 9 have difference triggers. The Shield does have an obvious reset, but it might not be as pronounced as the Glock's trigger (based on comparisons I seen on youtube).

The good news is that you can always add an Apex trigger to the Shield and still come in below the G43 price.

The shield is somewhere in between a Glock and an M&P. Like Styx said, an apex trigger makes a big difference. I don't have one, but a buddy of mine does and the reset is very "Glocky", which is to say, good.

I like glocks (except the 29/30/26/27) but the 43 just felt so wrong in my hand.

Good video.
