Glock Announces Adjustable Grips?

Doesn't seem to be any other information or pictures. Adjustable in what way?

I don't recall anyone screaming for such a feature.

That feature is long overdue on a Glock.

And yes, they have been screaming for it.

I thought it was HK who was innovative with plastic, am I mistaken ?
HK did make the first mass-produced polymer gun, but it never caught on. Glock did, so history was re-written.

And the Walther P99 introduced the interchangeable back straps and it does well with the P99 and P22 pistols. Glock has lost the innovation and is simply getting with the times.

I've certainly been wishing for this for a long time. Anybody that spends any amount of time discussing handguns knows that the #1 complaint against Glocks (aside from them being plastic) is that they feel weird in the hand, and don't point well. This will solve that complaint for the most part.

Dammit. I just placed a special order for a G17.

At least I'm happy with the grip. I couldn't stand the feel of a glock at first, but I warmed up to them for some odd reason.

I like the grip of the Glock, maybe as much as I do that of a 1911.

Personally, it fits my hand very solidly and very well.

However, it would be a shame if the frames for these new adjustable models were non-interchangeable.

This may actually get me back to shooting Glocks.

I stopped shooting Glocks when I realized that I had to adjust to the gun rather than having a gun adjusted to my hands.

Fighting one's equipment is never the way to excel.

(I have the same problem with the Glox)

Nice to hear so many outfits are finally catching up to JB. If you think back the 1911 has an arched or flat mainspring housing. It also has standard or thin grips. It also has a short, standard or long trigger.

How do you adjust the width on Tupperware - send it out for grip reduction therapy.

How do you adjust for the backstrap - you get three choices (1911 only has two).

How do you adjust for length of pull - 1911 has three choices. I haven't seen any Tupperware offering any choices...

Marvelous invention these adjustable grips. I'm so glad J. Browning thought of it for the 1911...

Only took the rest of the world 90 to 100 years to catch up.

Not quite correct. There is the flat and arched MSH, but there is also the "Wedge" (Ed Brown) and the S&A has a different arch than Colt. You can always grind on a Colt until it suits you.

But as far as store-bought, there are at least 4 choices.

Same thing for the trigger. The possiblities are endless, including different configurations via the SV interchangeable trigger inserts.

In addition, you can change the backstrap by installing an Ed Brown "Memory Groove" beavertail or the Novak "Answer."

The grip has never been an issue for me, but a lot of folks seem to dislike it. I have pretty long and big hands, and my Glocks have always fit them perfectly. However, I assume that they can recapture more market share if they make them adjustable for folks with different needs. I just hope the price doesn't go up.

This would hardly be a surprise, I'd think, especially since other European pistol manufacturers have discovered there's a market demand for this feature. ;)

Besides, Glock has already made concessions to market demands involving this concept in the way of the .45GAP and SF models.

The trick will be to see how they can carry it off. Will it simply be a selection of backstrap inserts, or a choice of combination backstrap/palm swell inserts? Will they really innovate and offer the ability for a user to also change the front profile of the grip frame, as well?

I have little doubt that a design change along these lines will help them remain a viable force in the increasingly competitive defensive service pistol market.

Guess we'll see.

And I'll bet that Glock will only charge about $75-100 more for their new model! Why buy a standard gun when you can go out and buy the same thing with many more options, for example a springfield and it's probably cheaper than a glock will be too!

I thought that was John Browning with his 1911.

Just a little 1911 humor.

Looks like the competition FINALLY popped up on their radar.

Certainly a welcome addition!
