So the 9mm and 45 Glocks are really durable huh?

What about the .40 and 10mm models?

I have a 10mm that I shoot alot and plan to get a .40 next. How come there isn't any torture tests one either one?

The most extensive torture test ever run on a Glock was done on a G23 by Ptooma Productions.
I have several .40's and 2- 10mm's that I shoot pretty hot handloads through and I have never had a single issue with any of them and I shoot a hell of a lot more than the average gunowner.

Technically speaking 10mm and 40S&W (and 45ACP/GAP or 357 SIG) probably won't last as long as a 9mm in a Glock. However, they do just fine even under some pretty awful conditions and you'll get a great value from them.

I didn't have my G20 long enough to tourture test it (too big for my hands) but my guess is that they just aren't a popular, well, maybe .40 short and weak, but I would bet that G17s out sell G20s at least 2:1.

I'd wager it's much higher than that. Of the 6 closest friends/gun lovers I know, only one has a 10mm (a G20). A lot more 9mm and .45ACP in that group.

keep fresh springs in your m20 and it should last 4ever a buffer may help as well.

dont know your income flow but if your average ill bet you run out of money to buy the double tap ammo long before the glock quits shooting it,,,,,

I would agree with this, as these cartridges have greater recoil, chamber pressure or both than the 9mm Luger. But ...

Agreed.

What for? They are the same gun, only slightly different to accomadate the calibers. Most of the parts interchange.

I'd be willing to wager that a 10mm Glock will outlast your pocket book...

Both .40S&W and 10mm Glocks will put many rounds down range, probably enough to keep you busy for a lot of years.

Only recoil. The .40's chamber pressure is identical to the 9mm and the 10mm is only slightly higher and you have to reload or buy something like DoubleTap to acheive that. Most factory 10mm cartridges are not loaded to SAAMI's pressure max.

No, they are not the same gun and only a few of the parts are the same. The 10mm frame is much larger and the slide is wider and heavier. Right off the top of my head, I can think of these of these parts that are NOT interchangeable between the .40 and the 10mm: the trigger bar, FP safety plunger, FP, mag release, locking block, trigger housing, extractor, spring loaded bearing, recoil springs and magazines .

Not calling it a torture test, but have over 35,000 rounds through a G35. Other than replacing wear parts (recoil spring, disconnector and slide stop) this thing I swear gets better all the time. It has a Bar Sto barrel so that I feel comfortable with the handloads I put through it.

A G34 that I've owned for a couple of years has seen only about 1000 rounds and it is just getting seated in.

I also have a G23 that has thousands of rounds through without a hitch. I think the recoil spring is due, but everything else on it is GTG.

The only trouble so far was with a G27 that at first had FTE issues. It was new and Glock put a new extractor in it and it's reliable as a maytag washing machine now.

I could go on, but I've either been lucky, all of the Glocks have been reliable, or this is the normal trend. I've got seven of them and each one I'd rely on if the situation ever was needed.

Go buy this book:

On the last chapters, they torture a Glock model 23, .40S&W compact.

Yeah the .40 psi is identical to the 9mm. Alright now I'm convinced thanks guys. Your personal experience helped me.

26K rounds through my Glock 23 and still counting. Have YET to replace a single part in it, although 2 clips have been tossed because they quit feeding reliably. Just wish I could shoot that damn trigger as well as I can my 1911 .45's... when you've shot .45's for over 40 years, double action triggers suck :)

Its looks defies how many rounds have been through it.

Yeah I already have a barrel for it. It's a firedragon brand. It's very accurate but has feeding issues with all but FMJ. I think it has something to do with the longer travel from magazine to barrel. I like it though but it would be very hard to conceal a Glock 20 and I'm 6'4" and 220lbs.
