Going to the Gunshow this weekend. Problems with multiple purchases?

There is a gunshow this weekend in Pensacola that I'm going to. Normally I never purchase more than one firearm, but I'm going to use this opportunity if they have some Nagants in stock to pick up a couple. I'm also looking for a CETME and a defensive handgun for the wife. She's finally going to take the CCW class at the show. A Yugo Mauser is also a possibility.


So there is a good chance that I'd purchase a couple rifles and a handgun at the least.

There are no Florida laws restricting me from doing this, but I'm curious as to the Federal standpoint. Will I have to do any special paperwork for multiple purchases (2 or more) from the same dealer? Also, if I purchase several weapons from different dealers, will this somehow "flag" me on the NICS?

More than one handgun in one (5?)-day period from the same FFL requires a goofy little Federal form to be filled out by the FFL-holder.

I've bought four guns in one day - a handgun and three rifles. No extra forms. May throw up a flag on some computer somewhere, but no additional forms or hassle.

If you bought them from the same FFL, he had to fill out that form.

IIRC, he keeps a copy and sends the rest to the local heat.

Don't know about the FFL end, (like what's required, how long, etc.), but my triple sailed through NICS in less than two minutes total call time. Took lots longer to pass the info on than to get the up-check. But then, quantity purchased is not passed on at this step. If it was, I didn't hear, and I was right there the whole time.

Same deal on the PTB at the Sherf's office. Takes longer to fill out the paper than to do the deed. They did know how many, as it's a separate PTB for each handgun. I did one request, got back three separate forms. They did most of the work.

I'd just do the deals as you feel the need.

Hopefully, anybody you'd think might 'interfere' would have more important stuff to do.

Even just for multiple rifles? Or was it because I bought one handgun in addition to the rifles?

There may have been some other reason for this but I'm thinking it was due to a multiple purchase. I had never been delayed or denied for a nics check.One time a bought two pistols at one time and for the next 6 months every nics check I got was delayed.Could have just been a coincedent but...?

If you buy more than one handgun at a time ,the dealer will fill out a multiple handgun purchase form.

Read you backwards! I was thinking 3 handguns, 1 rifle, and not the other way 'round.

You're right, it's only done on multiple handguns, and the form usually isn't filled out 'til Close-Of-Business (at least, that's when we did... ).
