Any guess on gun prices after the AWB?

NEW Guns
AR- 15 $800
AK-47 $200
SkS $100-70
FAL $400
G3 $400

Oh and Hi CAP CLIPS
:D :D :D :D :D :D

And how about the prices on those ugly during the ban AR-15?

Why would everything cost more?

Supply vs Demand
Demand is not going anywhere.

John is right . Inflation hit hard over the last ten years .
I would guess Nutured rifles would go for $100 or so less than current rifles based on the fact that it will cost about that much to make them proper .
Hi cap AR mags are preaty much stabalised at $20 per and everybody will pay it anyway .They may go down to $15 for a bit , but the used ones will be cheaper as all of the old horder/ users replace old stock .

Ak's are stabalized at $350-$500.
SKS are always cheap when they turn up a new batch , but there is not that many unfired SKS's out there anymore .

DSA has set the price on Fals for the market preaty much and will continue to do so . Yea you can get cheaper , but that doesn't touch the DSA quality level.

True G3's are banned and still will be . I don't see HK cranking up US production so all you will get are copies and they will still go for a preaty penny .

And I don't see pistol Hi caps going under $25 no matter how many are out there.

My roommate just bought a preban AR-15 for $500.
E.A. 20inch
nice gun shoots great

NOTE
The price must come down because I am planning to build a AR with all the evil features.

I think prices will stay the same on rifle mags, but you'll be paying for NEW PRODUCTION mags, not old ones.

On pistol mags, I expect to see factory standard caps at the prices people have been paying for 10rds.

DOES EVERYONE THINK GUN PRICES WILL STAY HIGH?

Or our you just hoping that your unfired preban colt will still be worth $2000 after the ban.

Mag prices will remain the same essentially but you will get a high cap factory mag for what you used to pay for a 10 rounder. The best price drop will be for all the 10/22 30 rounders. I am buying a few of those just in case a new AWB goes into affect in the future.

Do you suppose the manufacturers are already tooling up in anticipation of turning out volumes of regular capacity magazines? I suppose many manufacturers have the production in place to make high cap magazines for LEO/military so they might be able to seemlessly ramp up production. I am thinking of some of the third party manufacturers though, such as Ram-Line et. al. Are they going to take a wait and see position to at least wait through November to see how the election goes before considernig a resumption in production perhaps?

Demand after the Ban will skyrocket b/c people will be afraid of Kerry winning the Election and making an even worse Ban.

I didn't even think that far ahead. Let the Y2Kerry hoarding begin.

P.S.-Everyone vote Bush. (just do it for me)

I think Colt prices on the older models are going to stay high no matter what. The older models just aren't going to be made any more. Even without the ban, new Colts will still have .170 pins and receiver blocks.

The only prices that will drop are those on "pre-ban" guns. With new guns being the same as "pre-bans," except for the fact that they are new instead of ten years or more old, there will be nothing to support the high pricing of "pre-bans." Same thing goes for "pre-ban" mags. The companies making standard magazines never stopped making them, for the export and LE market, so supply is not a problem. The prices for new full-caps should be the same as the current prices on 10 rounders.

I cant wait to own a few mags marked "LEO/Military only", that should cheese off the antis and the "You cant hunt with one of those"-guys that are always at the range.
I need at least a few Sig228 mags and more AR mags.

What companies are currently producing LEO/Mil AR15 USGI 30 rounders?

Assuming AWB sunsets...

...state bans will still have some impact.

NEW Guns
AR- 15 $800 - Eventually, to include the "evil features" or exclude them at some reduction...

AK-47 $200 - depends on the AK...similar to the AR prices will drop eventually, but a quality Arsenal Inc. or Krebs Custom or AK103 will still be above $600, or more. If SAR's and WASR's are aggressively imported, we may see some of them approach $200 again.

SkS $100-70 - I see some in this range already...depends on the quality you are after...they've taken a position in the "surplus market" that I'm not sure is tightly linked with AWB...

FAL $400 - Like the AK's and AR's, there are different price points to be considered...I think you'll see the "full featured" models available for roughly the same as the quality "post bans" now, and that "corrected" models will still be available at some discount for those that live in "occupied territory", but can still buy the "94-04" configurations.

G3 $400 - Same as FAL...

I think the biggest change will be in inflated mag' prices, especially Glock (assuming they make full caps available to civilians). Sig', Beretta, even CZ...they charge fairly substantial prices for "Bradycaps", they may be inclined to think they are working with a more "discriminating client" that is willing to pay more...we'll see.

There may be enough demand for AR full caps to keep prices up...import restrictions on AK/HK mag's may keep their prices up temporarily...there's also the possibility that after 10 years of AWB, those that were inclined to stock up on full cap's already have...there may not be enough demand to support the higher prices OR to justify aggressive imports/manufacturing that would tend to move prices down.

Bottom line, too many variables to speak with any certainty...I don't expect drastic changes near term...I expect a cautious market to move slowly unless one or more major players makes an aggressive move to shift the tied more rapidly.

Let's hope it really sunsets!
