I yet to see a Jennings, Bryco, Jimenez gun priced under $150.00 used. I don't know where you could buy them for the $69.00 price that was earlier quoted. In fact I have yet to see any used gun for self defense that sells for less than $150.00 used. For that price point I would buy a new High Point that has a lifetime warranty that is worth something from what I have read.

American Ammo: My dealer had some of this a few years ago. I bought 100 rounds of 9mm FMJ and 100 rounds of .45 ACP FMJ to try it out since it was priced good. It ran just fine in my guns, no jams of any kind. I didn't test accuracy since I was just plinking, but I hit more often than not. I also didn't reload the brass since I wasn't a reloader at that time, so I can't comment on whether the brass is good for reloading or not. My dealer stopped selling it just a short time later because of bad reports about this ammo. Admittedly, 200 rounds is not a very big sample, so maybe I just got lucky and had a good lot, who knows. All I know is the American Ammo I tried ran just fine in my guns.

I bought 500 rounds in .45 ACP many years back for the brass and it would jam on every .45 I own except the Ruger P90. I am too cheap to throw them away so I load them with pyrodex to use with Reminton 58/63 cap and ball replica using Kris Konverter cylinder . Recently ,I load up 300 rounds batch last month and make sure to put heavy tapper crimped on the loaded round and it seem to work fine with Glock 30 and Ruger P 97 . I still rate it as the worst ammo ever on the market but if they were on sale for let say $5 a box I will buy them again.:)

Winchester 22 Xpert Hollowpoint. Gah. Where to start....

I was gonna give it away, but I don't personally know anyone I dislike that much.

All Jennings, Bryco, Jimenez (however they spell it, it is crap)

Surely you jest! I saw a Jennings 9mm the other day, and it was a thing of beauty! All I can think of now is buying that gun, and having it engraved...

"Pro Mags" not as bad a USA but nearly every promag I have owned had problems. I have owned a few that actually worked so all is not lost. I wouldn't buy them but if you feel lucky, and you are dirt poor, you might take a chance. I give you one chance in three of getting a good mag. Do you feel lucky punk?

The only product I've really been burned on was a Pro-Mag polymer AR-15 20 rounder. No matter WHAT, it would not catch in the gun!

ETA - another "defense of Kel-Tec" post. My 2nd Gen P3AT has been flawless (when I do my part and hang ONTO it for the ride! :D ) from day one - NO trips back to the factory, NO fluff and buff.

I fastidiously avoid overpriced firearm lubricants, and rely instead on my 50/50 mix of 15W-50 synthetic motor oil and ATF. :D

Pro mags are POS mags. Don't ever...even if you feel lucky buy them. Picked up a couple AR mags on sale somewhere didn't work...found out they were promag sent back and the new ones didn't work! Threw them away! Got some extra mags for my HiPoint at a trade show...guess what they were Promag and didn't work sent them back and new ones didn't work! Threw them away and have sworn off anything pro mag don't care if they ever do start making a good mag I'd prefer to see them out of business!

I agree that American Ammo is crap. I bouth 500 rounds each 9 mm, 30 cal & .45 a couple of years ago. The 9 mm runs just OK in my UZI,the 30 & 45 jam, misfire & split cases about as often as it shoots like it should.

had a p-32 good gun no problems just was too small for my damn hand. it would pop out every shot. as you say jennings and saturday nite guns you get what you pay for. my father had llamma that was pretty much mine it was a .380 jammed every now and then but you pay for what u get, good gun wouldnt get it in a cal above .380 maybe a 9mm. but if you have only 200 bucks to spend on a gun go with something you can depend on kel-tek or s&w. not everyone can afford a Sig or Glock know what im saying?

avoid any SKS scope mount that is based on the reciever cover

same for the afore mentiond Amerc ammo and the 'american' family of magazines

remington thunderbolt and winchester X bulk 22lr ammo has been pretty much crap in any auto-loader I've tried them in

wallyworld style cheap rings, bases, scopes, cleaning kits, etc...

About the "extreme shock" ammo, I was looking on the site and found some of the stuff pretty funny.

cAs if they couldn't seperate their ammo into different categories(tactical and hunting) even if they were the same they call the bulk of their ammo "High Velocity tactical & hunting rounds but they are described as:

The FHVL grants the operator enhanced tactical capability, such as controlled penetration and increased ability to eliminate threats instantly, while eliminating ricochet and over-penetration liabilities. The FHVL’s explosive entry charateristics make it a favorite among the hunting community, because shot placement is not as critical in order to take down game.

I just can't understand how a hight velocity bullet can have "enhanced tactical capabilities" and "explosive entry characteristics". I bet those are the main(and only) selling points for their ammo. Unless we for some reason are forced to hammer bullets into other people's faces, you can sure as hell bet I'm going to stock up on several cases of "fang face" bullets.

And another thing to add:

explosive entry and enhanced penetration

Quoted from the muzzleloader bullet section, this claim is completely contradictory. Apparently they explode upon entry but keep penetrating into the inner core of the beast...

I heard that Olympic AR's don't fire wolf ammo well. Is this true? I also heard that they don't like certain aftermarket mags, which one's do they shoot well with.

CIENER

Their conversion kits worked well for me, but their customer service is TERRIBLE! A friend of mine ordered one and waited six months for it. He didn't know if they received it and they NEVER responded to his emails, phone calls, or faxes. He literally thought they took his money. Finally, the kit showed up on his doorstep...about three months after he bought an Advantage Arms 22 conversion kit.

Khan semi-auto shotguns. The worst gun buy Ive ever made. a semi auto shotgun for 179 dollars was definetly too good to be true. Jammed all of the time and never went through 5 rounds without jamming as long as I owned it. It wasnt just mine either, a friend of mine got the same one. We woke up at 4am the day after thanksgiving to wait in line at dunhams sporting goods and got the last 2. his was as big of a piece of garbage as mine.

E-Shock rounds are engineered to expend maximum energy into soft targets, turning the density mass into an expanding rotational cone of NyTrilium matrix particles, causing neurological collapse to the central nervous system.

WOW, plese tell me that is not on official company quote:scrutiny: . . .

Gonna +1 this. It's the worst of the worst when it comes to current production .22 ammo. It's filthy dirty, wont feed in anything I have, and misfires more than a pre-pubescent boy.

Gonna bring it for a buddy's revolver this weekend. If this thing doesn't work in his gun then I might consider donate it off to mythbusters to do as they please with it.
