My wife bought me a Colt Combat Elite for Christmas 15 years or so ago. I got her a S&W 586 a couple years before, I still don't hardly get to shoot it! She made me buy a .44mag for elk hunting after she figured out there might be bears.

Well, she hasn't really bought me any guns. But a few years ago at a Friends of the NRA dinner, she bought a raffle ticket (yes, just one) and put my name on it without telling me.

That raffle ticket won a Browning repro of the Winchester 1886 rifle, the High Grade version in .45-70 with a 26" octagonal barrel and all the other goodies. She's gotten a LOT of mileage out of that one 8^).

My lovely wife of 23 years bought me a Springfield Omega 10mm about four years ago for my birthday.

She asked what I wanted amd I said a sea kayak with all the required equipment (about $2,300). When I got "The Look" I told her about the Omega for $700. That cinched it. (of course, I learned the "quote the most expensive thing first, then hit 'em with what you REALLY want" trick from her. She's a MASTER)

I'm still the luckiest man alive.

On that note my wife recently "allowed" me to dump a ton of money on a rarer WWII 1911 I had been lusting after, so I can say she's pretty well on board, she's a keeper.

Last Christmas my wife surprised my with a S&W 625JM (Jerry Miculek model 45ACP revolver), and then two weeks later won a certificate for a free gun that she let me redeem for a S&W 627 (8-shot .357magnum revolver).
