I have a Marlin model 81 (no suffix) .22 which has the standard open rear sight on the barrel. This rifle does not have any holes drilled and tapped on the left rear of the receiver but I plan to get a Williams sight and install it myself.
My question is: how tall does the front sight need to be to work with a Williams receiver sight? If someone has a Marlin 81 or later version with a Williams sight, can you measure the height of your front sight from the top of the barrel to the top of the front sight? Or even measure from under the barrel to top of the sight. When I order parts I want to try to order everything I need at one time to save shipping.
