Henry Revolver

Gun Community: Why doesn't the Gun Manufactures ever come out with something new and unique? I am bored with the same old designs.
Gun Manufacture release something new and mildly unique...
Gun Community: What is this unproven ugly trash? Give me my (design older than dirt), thanks!

And we wonder why nothing is changing in the industry. "We" won't let it, even mild design changes like Henry gets the hate in heaps let alone anything remotely paradigm shifting. We are never going to get our "Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range." with this completely unadventurous attitude. If this forum was a car forum we would still be arguing for carburetors and bias ply tires...

Some people still want carbs back. I don't hear many wanting bias ply tires though. I know interco still sells some bias ply tires.
How long did the polymer semi-auto handgun take to finally bludgeon its way into market acceptance?

Glock was introduced in the US in 86 and had 50 % of the market by 92. Thats pretty darn fast. The vp was before it but even today it wouldn't be popular. Looks like an ugly high point mated with a Whitney wolverine and hired Kelgren for its tailor.

I'm shocked at how fast some things take off and snowball. Then some things like 10mm kind of die for 40 years and then take off. Lol

Do I recall the VP70 setting the absolute benchmark for 'trigger from hell' award? Glock triggers are a work of art, by comparison.
Yeah, new ideas in the gun business are a tough sell.

Chiappa "bottom chamber" revos are an example of really 'thinking outside the box'. Yeah, they are odd looking, (they feel better than they look) and they tend to be pricey, but they make a real difference in recoil mitigation.
They haven't sold really well, though I don't see many on dealer's shelves. Maybe the dealers are shy about something different?
My LGS always has a few Chiappa revolvers in stock. The inventory changes so someone is buying them. What gets me is all the .357 models are priced at $1200-$1400, but the 9mm models are $850-$1000.
Maybe I am odd, but I like the looks of them. I have handled them. The grip feels weird to me. I would like to shoot one. No place I have been to that rents guns has Chiappas to try out.

I know the guy who runs our local shop; he was going to send a 9mm 4" Chiappa back; he showed it to me, and offered me a $700-something price; I was all over that like a rooster on a June bug.
Another buddy got a snub Chiappa in .357, and we were amazed at how mild the recoil felt.
The double action is great; the single action is as well, though thumbing the 'cocking' hammer is odd.
I scored a used, short barrel .357; if I could find a holster, it would see some hiking carry.

Not the most attractive revolver I’ve ever seen. But I can remember when people said the same thing about the Ruger Security-Six when it came out. People got over the aesthetic qualities of the Security-Six when they saw how accurate and durable it was and, as the saying goes…the rest is history. I wouldn’t give the Henry a second thought except for the fact that it’s made by Henry. Henry doesn’t make any junk. I predict the Henry will earn a solid following.

Henry.....well, you have to pay if you want a polished blue steel finish nowadays. That alone is attractive to my eye. The retro usage of brass is also attractive to me. I would be more interested in hearing about the trigger and a shooting report.
Will probably never buy a new one. But who knows? I might come across a clean one in a pawn shop in the future....say around $600 bucks and i would take the bait.

I like the polished blue and brass myself. I would get one by I just had to get a new ac system for my home AND had to have it repaired.

So excess money is a no go for a bit

Edit: I meant to say AND had to have my house repiped
