This Henry single-shot... I'm thinking that .30-30'd be the way to go... Lyman sights and low-to-medium recoil. Probably be, in theory, a pretty good woods gun. I wonder if there's a couple of improvements to be made... hammer, trigger job, lower price...

I posted about wanting one of these a few weeks back. Since then, ordered a revolver which I do not need and now seeing this post, makes me have buyers remorse. That said, so many calibers that I would like to have it in, makes me think, of which one I want the most. Keep going back and fourth from caliber to caliber. I would not mind having one in 223.

Does the.357 Maximum pressure differ much from the .357 Magnum?

It’s higer by about 5,000 psi

You can load the maximum to 223 pressure levels with small rifle primers. They chamber it in 308 so 357 max is not even going to begin to stress the action and being a single shot it will have a fully supported chamber. My 13" contender pistol will shoot a 180 gr XTP at 2200 fps.

Revolvers are the one firearm we all need more of, though many people don’t realize it. I know you know the truth of that @Jeb Stuart so you take back what you said! ;)

I’m glad for those who’ve been wanting and waiting on these, unfortunately my wish list is still putting them a few lines down from where I’d like them to be. Hoping for range reports and pictures galore.
