have had this USP for a while and finally ready to do something about the fact it shoots low. Fixed sight so what do you think file the front sight or try to replace the front sight? I use a 6 o clock hold on the bulls . Any other handgun I have with adjustable sights I have dialed dead in the bulls but I want to fix this gun.

Seeing as both your SIG P220 ( https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/sig-220-elite-shoots-low.833850/ ) and your HK USP 45 both shoot low, and it appears as if by they same amount, you may want to try changing your aim point.

Typically, neither SIG nor HK set their sights for 6 o'clock holds. You put the "dot" (of the front sight) on the target, and that's where the bullet will go. All your rounds appear to be hitting consistent with a 6 o'clock hold. See the sight pictures in this article. You want the sight picture on the far right. You are currently using the picture on the far left.

That is normal for a USP. If you want to actually see your target you may want different sights. I had one I put a lower aftermarket front sight on mine so my hold is the same as other guns.
Be cautious with measurements.

awesome info you all are giving me thanks, I will try the dot on the bulls see what happens the 6 o clock hold is my prefered but if I have to do different I'll try it.

As the others mentioned, the average HK is a "drive the dot" sight picture, not a 6 O'Clock. I've gone predominately to HKs and Walther's so I'm used to it.

IF it bother's you, you can look at aftermarket sights such as Dawson Precisions (I have several sets).

They have a calculator on their site that will allow you to pick a front sight height to get the sight picture you want with your load:

All three of my HKs have fixed sights and are dialed in for "drive the dot" sight pictures. My Sig P220 is also.

If you want to have a 6 o'clock hold, you need a shorter front sight, or need to add an adjustable rear sight. Or, forget the 6 o'clock hold and adjust to this setup. It isn't best for precision shooting, but fixed sight guns never are.

Thanks I am not going to change anything until I go and try the drive the dot system of aiming, instead of my normal 6 o clock hold. I guess I have to remember these were not meant to be target guns but combat/defense guns first and foremost

Have you had another person shoot it?

Many times I have found that people shooting low are actually anticipating the recoil, forcing the gun down, thus the rounds hit low.
I did and also rested it. I even had a range officer watch me to see if I was dipping the sights. I was careful in control, trigger , finger, breathing and front sight focus control.

Hey friends tried that drive the dot aiming today and guess what, I am hitting mass in the black now at least at 15 yds, so from now on that is my aiming technique for the USP. The Sig 220 however is still low but that is in another thread,
See this thread for the difference with the USP, s a matter of fact made a difference with my Beretta 92 also
