i just want to say, that if anyone has ever thought about haveing a muzzle brake installed on their gun, but wasnt certain about doing it, DON'T WAIT! JUST DO IT! i had a "Gentry quiet muzzle brake" installed on my Marlin 1895g 45/70 this past week. i took it out and shot it today. i had never shot a gun with a brake before, so i was not sure how much it would affect it. what a difference! i don't know if all muzzle brakes work as good as this or not. but i am so impressed, i am going to have my 300 win mag done as well. at one time, i looked at a .340 weatherby magnum, but to be honest, i was afraid the recoil would be to much. knowing what i know now, i wouldn't think twice about buying one now. if you are on the fence, get off it and go for it, IMO. you will not be sorry.

I had a boss on a 7rem mag it was so loud I couldn't stand to shoot it. would knock boxes off the bench next to me. Ended up taking it off.

I had the BOSS on a 300WSM and it was effective but loud as hell.

Sure made one hell of a fire ball in the evening though.

I shot a pig at twilight and it took me about 5 seconds before i could see if it was down or not.

Well, I Dont Know. I Shoot Out In The Woods, By Myself. So I Probably Will Never Hear Any Complaints. As Far As The Noise Level For My Ears, I Don't Think It Is Any Louder That It Was Without The Brake. That Is Supposed To Be One Of The Design Features Of This Brake. It Directs The Noise Away From The Shooter. And Yes, I Did Shoot It Without Any Hearing Protection.
