Because I have a relative that works for Hornady I can tell you ahead of the announcement. They have redesigned the LnL progressive from the ground up. They will be dropping support of the previous version for the new model immediately.

As much as I like my Hornady L-N-L, this would give me an excuse to buy a Pro Chucker 7.:)

I'm betting the hype is polymer ammo such as that in the newest American Rifleman. The doppler hint may have to do with the newer bullet design needed to cut through the air/fluid like a vortex?

Well I hope everyone can get some sleep tonight a the excitement is just too much!!

Tomorrow is the eventful day to be filled with mass quantities of excitement!!:what:

I think it's a cartridge that shoots ammo that will travel down a
laser beam. Paint the target with the laser pull the trigger and
get into the jeep and go pick up your game.

OMG! They have created the ultimate bullet! Now all others should cease bullet production, they will never be surpassed. All hail to King Hornaday!

And now I can sleep, assured of victory as I go hunting a record buck.

Pour me another cup of coffee.

So all the previous plastic tipped bullets I have bought from Hornady were of poor quality and melt mid-air screwing up the BC according to them. I don't imagine fully jacketed or even SP bullets doing that, so they made a problem and are now marketing the solution?

I shoot 100 yards max, I hunt in the grocery store looking for good marbling in my steaks.
Put me down for twenty, so I can see if everything has really changed.

They found a problem they didn't realize existed and opened the door to the future.

Or the found that the plastic they were using melted in flight and switch to a different plastic. Now where is that yawn emotioncon?

Hmmm....my rifle sure didn't like SST bullets, even with that cool-looking red tip! ;) This bullet is going to make us all great 800 yard shooters? Are all the other bullets being discontinued? Were the profits calculated with a slide rule, or was that a sly drool? :D

I suppose the game changer is publicly admitting they made bullets that didn't do what they were supposed to do.

Most businesses would have just fixed the problem in production.

I watched the whole video, I suggest you do too. There's "other" new stuff,(or at least I haven't heard about it), there's new ammo other than the EDX, there's a huge new all cast iron single stage press that looks pretty darn good. It DOES have those confounded LNL bushings, but I have to admit they really change out fast in the video. Along with a place to park the other dies right on the press, a place to mount case conditioning tools, inside/outside chamfer, primer pocket cleaner, and neck brushes. Looks to be made like a tank, very heavy "C" type press with very good access to the cleaver new shell holder.

No wonder I can't find any interbond bullets, or any GMX. They may be placing the new heat shield tips in them, not that I'm all that worried about a small change to BC at long range for hunting. OR long range target shooting, I no longer do either.

A new electronic/digital scale, lots of other stuff. There's even a "NEW" case/gun parts dryer that looks just like my food dehydrator that I make beef jerky in. Now I never though of using that for drying cases I cleaned in my ultra sonic cleaner. Or when I clean my Glock or other semi-auto handguns.

I've been a fan of Hornady for years. They try real hard to satisfy needs or invent new bullets for special needs. Back in the seventies they came up with several FMJ handgun bullets specifically for handgun silhouette. IIRC, 180 gr. RN.357 and standard 240 gr. TC 44 mags that had thicker jackets that took longer to flatten when striking the steel targets. They were heavier than normal and shot very good, were very accurate.
