Sound expensive, but like it'll be a hecukva lot of fun.

Maybe get some rail covers, though.....

How long of rails are you intending to get on your upper?

Sounds very good, especially if you upgrade to a Leupold, why, because I think they look better, and if your dropping that much money, I'd buy a GOOD scope, like one that's purpose build for an AR15, such as Leupold Mk4's, that upper DESERVES a GREAT optic.

sounds great to me, except for the scope

i'd go no more than 2-8x power

I'd have to agree with upgrading the optics. A rifle is only as good as the glass it wears.

Also, as far as the AAC M4-1000... I own one and am very pleased with only one gripe. The new fast attach style rings like a tuning fork with every shot. Some people don't mind but it annoys me. It's caused because the flash suppressor is 3 seperate prongs that are not attached at the muzzle...apparently this design is more reliable than the old design or so I was told by AAC when I asked them why they sold me a tuning fork for the end of my AR. AAC is working on a fast attach muzzle break for the M4-1000 in lieu of the flash suppressor that will eliminate the ringing and double as a muzzle break when not using the suppressor but it won't be available until later this year. I don't really care about having a muzzle break for when I'm not shooting suppressed because I see no reason to shoot un-suppressed...but it will be nice to stop the ringing.

BTW, they have the muzzle break fast attach already available for the M4-2000.

Good luck on the build. IMO the build is almost as much fun as the range time.

now you have a DMR ;)

Also, I've never had the opportunity to use a Timney trigger though I've heard excellent reviews.

I have however used a Chip McCormick AR Match Trigger (on my current AR) and absolutely love it...very easy to install as well.

Most everything has been ordered but the glass & rings. For glass Im still kicking around something like a Bushnell elite 6500 2.5-16 @ 750$ but that is around my max, Leupold Mk 2 4-12 @ 626, or the Sightron SII 4-16 @ $400 & its big brother the SII 3.5-10 for $719.

Just to many choices. I really cant afford this rifle, but Im stretching. I don't think I can stretch the glass a whole bunch, 500ish is what I was thinking but $700 might take a while.

I want this to be able to reach to say 500 yds (I know I cant, yet) , will 2-8 get out that far? or as far as .223 anyway?
Guess it can sit in the safe a while without any glasses.

Paint is after the spr PRS is on it

I have great problems with paying that much for a Bushnell.
