Hmmm, a thread to see how many firearms have passed thru my hands as oppose to what I have.
I think they were all lost over the side of the boat while I was duck hunting, yeah thats what happened, I cant exactly recall, All i have is this old punt gun that was bolted to the dingy. (Wink)
Bought, a few
Traded, a few
Sold, 3 (one lemon and really wish I still had the other two)
Stolen, 7 (actually stolen from my Dad's house when I was in college)
I mean, you can never be sure they are going to go to a good home, where they will be cared for, well fed, foldled, oogled, displayed with pride and exercised every day.
I have my first center fire, a F.N. 250-3000 Savage, and my first shotgun a 12 gauge Fox Sterlingworth.
I own about 40 guns and have gotten rid of VERY few over the years.
Within the past year or so I acquired a Savage .17 HMR, a T.C. Omega and a used but like new Ruger #1 in .25-06.
Zeke
One was a Browning Buckmark Rifle, I didn't like the way the slide came close to my face and it threw crap back.
The second was a NIB Beretta Silver Pigeon II DU gun. I bought it at a banquet for a deep discount and then held it for awhile. I really decided I didn't need it and so I sold it to a friend who collects them. With the money I bought a couple Winchester's.
I lost count. I only sell stuff that does not work right (semi-autos mostly) or ones I bought more as a favor to someone needing some money. I have sold some nice ones though that weren't my cup of tea at the time.
I've bought many, sold one that I recall, traded a few, lost a couple in a divorce and had my brother sell or trade a few while I was in the service. He pretty much made up for that. My biggest distribution has been gifting to the kids and grandkids.
Hope to last long enough to gift to all the grandkids.
I have more firearms than I have years, and I reached Government Mandated Senility a few weeks ago (anybody other than me noticed that Medicare isn't voluntary?). Never sold one, although I have given some to family.
How can you buy half a gun, you ask? Well, my 10/22 was sort of a birthday present for my 19th, but sorta wasn't. I paid for roughly half of it, my dad paid the rest.
