Is it just me?

Or does everyone else get the irony of this woman, writing from Gun Free Utopian Chicago (where she is probably too frightened to walk the streets for fear of the gang shootings - or getting beat up by a cop) about the murders on a Gun Free Utopian campus in Virginia?

All of this to influence some lawmakers in Arizona where nothing happened!

I wish she or the paper had left us an e-maill address to respond to this stupidity and point out the facts.

She would have been a lot safer if she had just stayed in Gun Owning Arizona than in Gun Free Chicago.

I'd follow her advice and ask my late Mother about guns, but I already know the answer. My lefty sister started to give me a lecture "on guns are only good for killing people" a few years ago.

My Mom (72 at the time) an Iowa farm girl stepped in and said "You're Damn right they are and any scum that tries to break in here will get one right between the eyes and it's been that way the whole time you were growing up here too. I'm surprised you'd think something that dumb".
 
The safety to perform these simple daily rituals is more rightfully ours than anyone's right to own a gun.

If that were truly the case, they would use their influence and money to join in the effort to keep guns out of the wrong hands by helping in the push for greater gun-control laws.

this seems reasonable since prohibition was an instant success and the war on drugs has gone phenomenally well . :rolleyes: People like this don't understand that taking things away from law abiding people has NO effect on what criminals do .

And how is this different than any other business ? Actually they CAN be held responsible for defects , selling to unauthorized dealers , and deceptive advertising . Just like any other business out there . They CAN'T be held responsible for what's done with a legally purchased item , just like ford can't be held responsible for drunk drivers killing people driving their vehicles .

When our schools are being invaded, that should be enough for strict gun-control laws.

We already have that , it's called "gun free zones" . Maybe enforcing the already 20000 + gun laws would be a start . Or perhaps , not being so lenient on obvious violent offenders .

There are 30,000 gun-related deaths each year in the United States.

I though we already had laws about killing people in schools. People that kill people in schools already have shown their contempt for obeying laws...why would they reconsider and obey any new laws?

How many have to die before we all realize that criminals will be criminals, and criminals don't obey your "vital controls"? The only way to match force is with force, and by restricting law abiding citizens you allow the criminals to have all the force, and the law abiding none. The only way a law abiding person may protect themselves from a criminal no matter where they are is for they themselves to break the law. So I ask agian, how many have to die before you wake up and realize that your "vital controls" are not working, and that letting the law abiding match force worked for thousands of years?
 
I'd sure like to know the insurance company she works for so I can be sure I don't buy anything from them. If they are so stupid to hire someone like that, I wouldn't trust them to handle my insurance needs.

Let's see. 40K die on the roads each year, with all the vital controls in the world.

More people die in accidents than guns, but what 'vital controls' do we have on that? More die from cancer/aids/heart attacks/ etc...

Heck, train crossings kill quite a few!

No, this has nothing to do with safety. That is just their smoke screen or else they would be crying about lots more than just deaths by guns.
 
Well, where will I start? Leftist governments have killed about 150 million of their own citizens in the last 100 years. They have usually disarmed their populations beforehand. How many more have to be killed in mass killings before we place gun banning leftists directly into the sewage processing systems?
