How many are on your list, that you seriously want to get before you die, that you have specifically identified by make and model as to what you want.

*DO* count airguns, BP/ML guns, and count additional uppers/barrels as different guns.

See Poll.

Next, after voting in the poll, answer me this question:

Is the number that you still want:

MORE?

or

LESS?

than the number you already have? I.e. are you past the halfway point yet?

Me: Less - I am past the 1/2 way point, definitely (assuming my list does not grow, which is a radically naive assumption - :p ).

I would like to buy several more. But more than anything, I'd like to shoot them all--a LOT. Then leave them all to the grandkids.

I have no idea as to the ultimate number. I can think of about 30-40 different guns right now that I would like to pick up. Most are collector pieces and would never be shot. Some are quite expensive.

I can't shoot what I have now. I generally follow the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle rule*, and sell one before adding another.

* Ask me, I dare ya!

I would like to think I'll never sell a perfectly good gun, but I've already sold one duplicate SKS that came with a sweet ammo deal. I don't have more than one of anything right now. However, I am NOWHERE near my half way point with just 8 in the arsenal so far.

In short, I want them all.

ODCMP M1
SA 1911 Mil Spec
Colt 1911 Ser 70
SA M1A Super Match
PPK or Beretta 84/85...something in .380
Anschutz multipurpose .22LR
Something .30 cal and bolt action
Maybe an AR, either a DCM match gun or maybe just an inexpensive carbine for plinking.

Maybe halfway or so.

Hard to say. Will probably depend on my future income and living arrangements. I'd say a minimum of 6-10, maximum of 150+ (assuming I win the lottery :neener:).

Before I fully retire, who knows?

But for right now the only one I can imagine is that new Colt 10mm 1911, if they really offer it to the public.

I don't currently own a 10mm, but that would be the one I'd get. Maybe spend a tad more and ship it to Tussey.

I actually don't know.

Right now I have 17 handguns, but I'm in an apartment and due to space constraints and a number of other reasons I'll be selling most of them. Then, I'm buying a few to have a well rounded 4-7 handgun collection. I have 5 rifles and a shotgun, and I may add a rifle or two. That said, there is a lot more I'd like and if I have room (and the funds) in a few years once I buy a house I will probably be back over that 17 handgun figure and well over the number of rifles (just higher end or more historically significant guns).

I'll probably be buying some and selling some for the rest of my life. As soon as I think I have it figured out, something new will come out (3 years ago the S&W M&P was not on my wish list, it didn't exist, but once I start buying again in a couple years it will be one of the first).
