I want several more guns. Currently my collection stands at:
20" AR15 DMR - .223 Rem
Benelli Nova Special Purpose - 12GA
Savage MkIIf - .22LR
HK P2000 (LEM) - .40S&W
SIGPRO SP2022 (SA/DA) - 9mm
Taurus PT1911 (radically reworked by a smith) (SA) - .45ACP
Smith & Wesson 22a - .22LR
I'd like to add the following:
Ruger GP100 - .357 Mag
Savage Model 64 - .22LR
WASR10 - 7.62x39mm
Marlin 1894 - .357 Mag
Savage 10FP - .308 Win
Springfield M1a National Match - .308 Win
16" AR Carbine - 5.56mm
Nighthawk Talon 1911 - 9mm
Kel-Tec FP9 - 9mm
Exposed-hammer side-by-side coach gun - 12GA
I like having different guns for different purposes. Currently I don't have any two guns (other than .22LR) in the same caliber, or in the same action, for that matter - heck, I don't even have two guns from the same MANUFACTURER, or, believe it or not, from the same GUNSHOP! As my collection expands, I want to keep that trend up as much as possible - I don't want two guns that do the exact same thing - I want guns that are each unique and have their own advantages over the others in my collection. I am a very practical shooter and try to outfit my collection as such.
The only guns I currently own that I don't have serious expectations from for utility purposes are my .22lr weapons, and the only reason I have them are to get the most out of my training budget. My Savage MkIIf even has a Williams dovetail rear aperture sight which allows me to simulate my AR's BUIS sight picture and get a lot more basic training with irons for a lower cost. My next Savage .22LR will be an autoloader with a scope on top to allow me to simulate shooting my AR with it's scope up top, and will be set up accordingly.
I love guns
