How many rounds do you shoot typically?

When I first started handgun shooting, I'd stop at 100 rounds or so because I'd start getting sloppy, and didn't want to practice bad habits. The last time I went to the range, I used 250 rounds and ran out. I wish I'd had more.

1). Sometimes 10.

2). Sometimes 500.

3). Sometimes a couple of thousand.

*1) usual "test" rounds per weapon. Do this several times a day.

*2) when testing, breaking in, or shooting for fun. Do this about three days a week.

*3) When I'm playing with my NFA toys. Do this about twice a month.

I reload. Trip before last 800 .45 ACP. Had three guns and ran out of ammo. Sore finger. The last 2-300 were a bit sloppy, but it was the first warm day in weeks.

Usually 3-400 center fire and 2-300 rim fire in one session.

I shoot about 100 rounds per trip. I seem to be a much slower shooter then others though, because 100 rounds last me two-three hours. Although I am on a personal range, and lack a spotting scope. That means I walk down to targets ever 5-10 shots to check out everything.

Note: Forgot I was in Handguns section. The above is with a rifle. No handguns yet.

rounds shot per session

Centerfire 100 max. Rimfire 150 max.

If you shoot 100 rounds per week in the course of one year you will have shot
5,200 rounds. 200 rounds per week at end of year = 10,400 rounds.

It is far from difficult to shoot 200 rounds per week.

Multiply no. of rounds per year times the cost per round and you will determine your annual ammo shooting costs.

As you can see, it pays to manage your range time to get more bangs per buck.

Normally 100 rounds of 9mm, 100 rounds of .357. Lately I've been shooting my .22 SP101 revolver a lot to practice double action, so after I'm done with the center fires, I shoot it until my trigger finger hurts.

When simply staying current with my CCWs, I generally shoot 50 or so rounds through each, making a total of about 200. If I'm there for fun, well then it's a lot more, especially when the .22s come out of hiding.:D

Handgun - 200 always - it costs too much to go to the range to not make use of the time.

100 max with my rifle. That 5.7 ammo costs too much.

100 - 200 per trip. I shot 200 today. 150 in the 9mm and 50 in the .45. On an average only 150 per gun tops.

50-100 rounds per pistol....bring two or three.

for rifles it depends...hunting rifles, only enough to sight them in and get comfortable....usually 20 rounds.

plinking rifles...50-100

50 - 150 per week through my carry guns. The remainder depends on what else I take & what I want to do with it. 10 - 20 through my varmint rifles when checking/adjusting zero. When shooting clay birds, usually 50 - 100, some of which actually hit something!

About 100 rounds per visit at the indoor range. I don't reload as much, so I don't shoot as much. If I have some of the light weight (.22, .32, .380) calibers, I may shoot a little more.

Autos and medium revolvers 100-200. Large revolvers 50-100. Rimfires, 'till i'm sick of shooting or run out of ammo! Medium caliber rifle 20-60.

My range sessions may be as short as 20 rifle rounds or 50 revolver rounds. Long sessions may include 200 9mm or several hundred .22. 200 clay birds are hard to beat! Depends on the mood. It's all good!

last range trip was 250 rds of 45,600 rounds of 9mm,25 rds of 7.62x54,about 600 of 22lr,100 rounds of 38 and 300 rounds of 223.That was me and a buddy.

Now I have to get back to reloading.:D

I'll typically do 50 rounds out of my 40's, I alternate between my mil-pro and the xd. I always take my 22/45 and I'll usually do 100 rounds out of that. The SKS see's 30 rounds twice a month. This is my routine every weekend.:D

250rds per range visit, now I'm trying to limit it down to 200rds. I only take 1 gun per visit(primary focus my training/session on that gun), A case use to last me 4 trips to the range, now it can last me 5 trips.
My own personal training regiment won't allow me to cover/maintain my basic skills with anything less than 200rds(tried with less, its does work for me).

Due to the hassels of getting to the range, I never leave the house with less then 1000 rnds. I normally shoot around 500 to 800 out of at minimum a 22 handgun and a couple of autoloaders.
