How much ammo do you have?

Geez -- 12 guys on this forum have more than 50,000 rounds of ammo? Don't tell the national press about that.

It's impossible to have too much; and despite a lot of scouring during the past 5 months or so, I don't have anywhere near what I'd like. Who does ... other than those 12 guys with the 50k-plus rounds, of course?

I put 25,000-50,000. Once you start adding up the 22LR ammo the numbers jump pretty quick. I probably have 10,000 rounds or more of that alone.

I wish I had more than all of you put together but doubt I'll ever find myself with just barely enough.

Personally, I don't really think the BATE cares how much ammo I have at my house right now, and I don't believe the rumors that they are "watching" us on the web for the sake of future door-to-door visits (not saying that you said that Owl, but it has certainly been said here before).


Anyway, I can't say exactly how much ammo I have, because I honestly don't know. If I had to guess, I'd probably put it between 3-5,000 rounds, excluding .22lr. If I include the rimfire ammo I'm probably a few thousand rounds heavier.

My "stash" varies depending on how much shooting I've been doing, as well as how much ammo I've been buying. Lately I'm down a bit due to bad market prices.

Before I posted joined this forums I had less than a box or two per caliber; I had several guns that I had no ammo for. I am working on it.

right now my total for ALL calibers is around 2,000. which is below what i feel i should have for just .22lr, and therefore massively below what I truly feel comfrotable with.

for me when my entire stock of loaded ammo (including 200 rounds that either you no longer have a gun for, or was neck sized for a rifle you haven't had in 6 years) can fit in a single five gallon bucket, my stash is too small. i would not mind having a stash on the order of what Ian has.

Here we go.. notice I have around 3k-3.5k with NO .22lr....

.380 = 250
9mm = 1300
.45 = 750
12ga = 250
20ga = 200
.223 = 750
.308 = 700

These are estimates and may vary by 10% as I am having to estimate from work.

Based on the outragious prices that I saw at the gun show I have all the ammo I need. .380 x 1000=$385, .40 cal X 500=$220and this was all target crap.
