How much ammo do you have?

Yes, I am a gun owner. Been one for 40 years.

No need to advertise on my car, my hat, or go on a forum with any more details than that.

Discussing guns is fine and a good way to learn, but I don't need to supply personal details about me or any guns/ammo I have.

Got a question for ya radiotom. Do you have a bank account? If so, how much money do you have? While I'm at it, how much is your house payment?

Posting things like this have no place on the internet. I just cringe when I see stuff like "how many guns do you have" "How many bullets to you own" etc.. No disrespect, but it's none of your business!

I didn't specify numbers when I posted before. I'll go ahead and state that I have tens of thousands of rounds of .22lr, and approaching 10,000 combined rounds for my two main calibers, 9x19 and 5.56/.223.

This is a firearms forum. Ammunition is obviously directly related to firearms, and board members frequently talk about their firearms, and yes, their ammunition.

If you feel so strongly about it...maybe you should just not answer and not post in this thread?

A lot. That's all I'll say. Enough to survive, whatever. If things go wrong, that will not be the limiting factor to my survival.

I think that a few hundred rounds is sufficient per weapon. At some point you will run out of other things, and either have to venture out in groups or defend what you have. Otherwise stockpiling ammo is futile, as why would you need to stockpile it under normal conditions, if you are just talking target shooting or hunting.
That's whaen you really would need to evaluate your situation, not for a shortage of range ammo, Obviouslly no one will be shooting at paper if there is an ammo shortage. No need to advertise what you have for no good reason. Most times when everyone is doing one thing, it's the few who make money, from contrarian thinking, that are doing the opposite.
IE:One guy says I have 5000 round per gun, I ask, how much body armor do you have, usually answer is none. Does anyone feel that they can resist a barrage of thousands of rounds of incoming ammo just because they bought a lot?

So that you can continue to train even when availability diminishes. Reference post 2008 election for an example of a time it paid to have ammunition on hand.

BTW: A few hundred rounds may not even get me through a single day at the range, depending on what I am doing.

Gorilla racks (72x48x18 five shelf) at Costco are rated for 1000lbs per shelf. $56.

I'm using an Edsal 24x48x72, rated at 4,000 lbs/unit. I really have no idea how much weight is on it. The steel structure is fine, but the actual shelf planks are sagging in the middle. It's barely a year old, so fatigue over time isn't the issue. I keep as much of the weight toward the edges as I can.

One of these days I'll have to take everything off and replace them with 3/4" or 1" plywood I guess.
