How much ammo do you have?

I remember the days when I knew how much ammo I had, to within a hundred or so rounds.

Those days are long gone.

I know how much I have exactly. I keep a spread sheet of all my guns, their serial numbers, how much I have of each ammo type (both in safes and in magazines), and total overall amount of ammo.

Currently...
1250 rounds of FMJ 9mm
450 rounds of HP 9mm
1200 rounds of FMJ 380
100 rounds of HP 380
350 rounds of FMJ 32 ACP
150 rounds of FMJ 38 Special
200 rounds of soft point 243
200 rounds of soft point 308
120 rounds of FMJ 308 from an old South African Battle Pack
200 rounds of 22 LR
100 rounds of Federal Nosler Partition 6mm Remington
125 rounds of #6 shot 12 gauge
100 rounds of 00 Buck 12 gauge
30 rounds of #4 Buck 12 gauge
40 rounds 12 gauge Foster slugs
100 rounds of #6 shot 20 gauge
25 rounds of #3 Buck 20 gauge
20 rounds of soft point 30-06

I did an inventory just last week.

Hopefully not much of a thread jack, but what I've noticed is over a week ago, I'd go to Wally World to get ammo, & no customers or employees were ever in the ammo/hunting area & I'd always have to go to the auto area to hopefully get someone to help me. Since the election, I've been in Wally World 4 or 5 times (yes, not much of a life) & there's always been a line for ammo.

golfer ray:
Ammoman still has 1,000-rd. cases of Russian 7.62x39 for about $250, includes shipping.
He also has .223 by the case.

PS: On Wednesday night the Memphis Bass Pro had all of the ammo shelves crammed full, including rifle, handgun and shotgun. As for how much had been replaced, I didn't think to ask. Only three of us were looking at ammo at about 8:00 PM.

Nobody else was on the aisle with reloading supplies, and when I saw the high prices for 100 Large Rifle primers (both CCI and ***?), I understood why nobody else was there....at least at that moment. Scalpers probably bought up lots of primers weeks ago at normal prices, to sell at our next gun show.

Not enough with another season of tactical rifle matches looming. Time to start reloading.

March, April, May, June, July, August, Sept, October @ 200 rounds each = 1600 rounds.

Good thing I have some time to get set up.

Barring the purchase of any firearm(s) in non-standard (for me) caliber, I am satisfied that I currently have enough ammunition and components ... well, I suppose that I could use a bit more of a couple of flavors of propellant. Nothing about which to be concerned, though.

20 of 458 Win Mag
30 or 40 of 300 Win Mag
40 of 12G Slugs
50 of 12G scattershot
30 of 223 Rem
600 of 22lr
25 of 22lr scattershot

I can not fit any more in my sellier & bellot carton

Write clearly and concisely, the BATF wants to make sure it records your numbers correctly. (rolls eyes).

I hope you guys do realize when you post in a forum, getting your name and address is entry level hacker easy enough.

Call me paranoid, but I would rather be paranoid then regretful.

I’m embarrassed. I really need to step up my stash.

200 .45acp
300 .38 special
600 .22 LR
50 .357
40 30-30
50 .32 S&W Long (I’m not sure why)

Every paycheck I get, I head straight to WallyWorld to pick up another couple boxes of something. I plan on starting to reload after Thanksgiving, so my stockpile should be a little more impressive down the road.

And yet here you are posting on a gun forum.

Also, news flash, most people have far more valuable (and mobile) items to steal than ammunition.

Whistle Pigs - My New Favorite Phrase

Haha! You'll have to be a little more specific about "whistle pigs."

The .22's are split pretty equally between my 10/22 and old Ithaca saddle gun. The 38's/357's are split between the Colt Official Police and S&W 686, respectively. The 30-30's go through my "new" Savage 340. The 45's all get eaten up by the SR1911, and the 32's? Well, someday they'll go in this old INA Tiger that a friend gave me. I'm one operational firing pin away from fun!

And yet here you are posting on a gun forum.

And here I am not listing how many guns I have, what kind, where I keep them, how much ammo I have, where I keep it, etc. etc.

Anyone with any desires and decent skill set could easily put together one heck of a database on a bunch of you guys.

Here is a hint, the gov't knows pretty much who has guns, so being on a forum isn't giving much away. Telling everyone on the internet all the details (basically the whole world including other governments) all the details strikes me as the epitome of foolish.

But hey, that's just me, I don't open carry, I don't have gun stickers on my vehicles or house windows either.

I go on those knitting forums just to jack with the old ladies. Do you even own a gun?

I do post on forums, I do open carry, and I do have stickers on my car. I'm not afraid to be known as a gun owner.

And anybody who attempted to put a "database" together on me would probably come to the conclusion, pretty quickly, that any one of my neighbors would be a far better target.
