how much do you shoot?

Hopefully we'll get the PTO fixed on the tractor and clear out a few lanes at my buddies farm... no mower = no fun shooting in the thistles!

Then we can lay waste to the landscape for the 4th !!

I try to go shooting at least once a month, and I end up shooting 100-150 .22LR, and 50-100 9mm. If I take the carbine, then add another 50 .22LR (bolt action). It's obviously more if I take my girlfriend or a friend along.

Yesterday I attended a defensive shooting training and shot 500 in six hours... my fingers still ache from loading the magazines so many times! I need to get one of those handy easy-magazine-loading thingies.

Not enough. :neener:

I usually go once or twice a month. During a typical range visit, I put 100 rounds of .45 ACP through my Springfield 1911, 100 rounds of 9mm Luger through my Ruger P95, and 90-120 rounds of .223 Rem through my Bushmaster AR15/M4. :D

I usually try to go twice a month - I will bring anywhere from 2-4 handgun/rifles to the session.

I can expect to spend anywhere from 1 1/2 hour to 4 hours. I normally put about 150-200 rounds down range.

My hubby and I go once or twice a month, and usually go through 100-150 rounds of the .22LR, about 50 of the .40cal; 50 rounds of the .44mag, and about 100 of the .223. Unfortunately the .223 ammo is getting hard to come by - and expensive - so we'll be toning that down a little.

I'm hoping to pick up my new 9mm this week, and that will mean another 100 rounds added to the above.

I typically shoot 150 rounds of .45ACP per session at two sessions per week.

It's not much, but I can afford it and it's enough to keep me proficient.

5 days a week and a mix of guns. It depends on what was built but it is mostly 500 rounds per 1911( 1 or 2 builds a week), and 200 or so through the AR's, 10 per week for our law enforcement contracts.
This is the fun part of the job.

If i go to the range: maybe 50 rounds of .22, 20 rounds of .22 WMR, a little SKS sometimes.

If i go to my friends farmland area: maybe 100 rounds of .22, a lot of shotgun, 20 rounds of SKS.

First Agent Schmuckatelli wants to know how many and what type guns we own.
Then he asks how much ammo we have.
Then he wants to see our safes/storage containers.
Now he wants to know how much we practice.

He always has only a few posts (<10), never states what he has, how much he shoots or post pictures of his collection or safe.

Not to say I'm paranoid ;)[adjusts tinfoil helmet with the shiny side IN :neener:], but are you paranoid enough ???? :scrutiny:

I get to the range 3-4 times a month. I ALWAYS put 50 rounds thru my tomcat as it is what I carry and I want to stay comfortable(proficient) with it. I also put 100-150 rounds thru my pointman, python or cz-75 depending on what I feel like shooting on that particular trip. It's a great way to spend a sunday afternoon.

Hey scout, I don't own a tin foil hat and don't care who knows what kind of guns I have or how I use them. :p

I go about twice a month (yes, city living is horrible!). So, each time I go I shoot about 200 rifle shells, 150 handgun and probly 3 boxes of shotgun. Just want to keep skills up on all three types.

And if any of my brothers bring their .50's, I'll shoot as much ammo as they offer :)

I usually go through 200-300 per range visit. Twice a week. (pistol + rifle)
If I also go skeet shooting (rarely), add perhaps 75-100 shells.

Sadly, the "good old days" (2005 and earlier) of going through 2-3K rounds of 308 or 556 per week are probably gone....still have alot of surplus, but am now rationing it out to (hopefully) last a decade, or until it's cheap again.

I too, am severely limited by ammo costs. I guess that's why I shoot mostly .22 as fast as I can load the magazine.

I have been known to go through 300-400 rounds of handgun ammunition for my .40, .45. or .38/.357 per trip, which used to be once a week. That's what I would be shooting if I could afford it still. Now I go through about 300 rds of .22 per trip.

I try to visit the range once a week. A typical day would be about 30 shots black powder revolver, 10 rounds 308 Win. at 120 metres and 20 rounds 9mm -more or less, depending on what refreshment training is going on.

When I was at the range yesterday with some family, I went through 200 rounds of 7.62x39 (SKS), 200 rounds of 40S&W (CZ40B) and somewhere between 50-100 rounds out of a bulk pack of 22LR (Taurus 94 revolver). So that's 450-500 rounds in three hours, just by me.

Usually every Saturday... only missed 3 Saturday's in the last year or so. Shoot some 45's, mostly 22's, a rifle now and then.

Hey scout how did u know?!?!? ...lol im just kidding. im just a noob with questions and want to know how much ammo all of you go through with the climbing ammo prices. I heard about some type of ammo that is supposed to come out in 2008 that has some type of plastic bullet. I heard that it will cut the ammo prices in half but im not sure what is going to happen with that whole idea. Does anybody else here know anything about that?

I shoot once a week about. During trap league season then its 1-2 times a week.

I will use about a box of shells or two every Sunday, and if the league is going then around 5 boxes a week.

As often as I can, but not as often as I'd like. Number of rounds depends on the firearm, expendable cash that week, and how much work related stress needs to be blown off.

I usually make it to the range at least once a week, sometimes twice. I will usually shoot about 50 rnds of .45ACP and, if I take it, 50 - 100 rnds out of my Beretta Neos. I will probably start shooting more each time when I get around to getting my reloading equipment set up. I really do need to get to an outdoor range where I can shoot my .30 caliber guns at a decent distance. No fun shooting them at the indoor range because it is only 25 yards.
